I respect Robert for telling it as it is regarding his time on the show - there is a slight cult/North Korea style feeling on SCD at times where everyone is expected to be smiles & positive 100% of the time and will get jumped down their throat by fans if they dare say anything negative when in reality, it is a difficult experience without a doubt. It works for some, it didn't for him, all the best.
Sophie ellis bextor says in her book its like a cult.

Regarding Robert and Strictly, I think now pros and celebs are pushed into being on social media a lot more than ever before and maybe that coupled with a lot of filming in training just made the whole thing more intense and stressful, and maybe after being asked to dress as Kermit he saw the way it was going and didn’t want to end up the joke act. He never really seemed into it in any week.

The Rob article is weird and whilst it might be what he said I’m slightly cautious because of the shite excuse of publication it’s in. They know how to stir the pot and make readers think a particular way. So I can see some of his quotes being manipulated.

I can imagine he was irritated at being presented as the joke act and I wish producers would stop pigeonholing older acts as jokes. Some like Bill just want to learn something new in later life. However he’s almost making it sound like Dianne was irritated , frustrated and uncaring at having to simplify some dances which I don’t think would’ve been the case.Through Joes reaction videos you can see how dances develop and change between Monday and Thursday… it’s just what happens.
Pro dancers know somethings just don’t work even at a higher level than teaching strictly choreography sometimes isn’t right and gets changed.

But I also feel Dianne’s been pigeonholed by production to be the bring the awkward shy guy out of his shell pro whilst that was the case with Joe there was other very different reasons for that. It’s never going to work with everyone.

In conclusion I do think Rob made a mistake by signing up both health wise and just generally. I think he wanted a Bill Bailey and the muppets was probably the straw that broke the camels back(not entirely sure D would’ve chose that I suspicious it was suggested by producers and she said yes because she wanted her contract renewing and doesn’t want to come across difficult) .

I also suspect he had something like a stupid themed paso/samba/salsa this week (possibly a Charleston or jive but those dances are a little daft and work when they’re a little daft) and if it was one the faster dances he probably did feel off so the health issues were probably genuine to some degree.

I do agree with the cult like nature of overly happy. Look at how people get treated on twitter etc if cameras just happen to catch them not smiling or clapping etc. I don’t think I’d like to be in that environment.

Haha I also always think 'I wonder if Vernon has cheated on her again' when I see her. Surely the new presenter has got to be Cheryl Cole Tweedy I mean she's got dance experience, works for the BBC and is the nations sweetheart.
I can’t tell if you’re joking….

Also, big no to ant and dec, not their style of show and also, they’ve signed their life away to ITV.

I like Tess and Claudia, think they work together and there isn’t that much presenting to do if you think about it other than Claudia chatting to them after the dances. That feels a bit awkward at the moment as it is so much better when the other dancers are up there and around them too. Wouldn’t mind Rylan taking the main show though. He’s great.

They all get paid a handsome fee for appearing and there’s even more money on offer if they are lucky enough to get on the tour. Many of the celebs have done well and have used Strictly as a springboard to more job offers and to up their public profiles. Some of these celebs are pretty minor when they take part and it’s a great opportunity for them. I guess some need this more than others. Very few will actually bite the hand that feeds whilst it’s actually happening, but hindsight is a wonderful thing as we know.

When Claudia asked Dianne to reveal what they would be dancing for Movie week, Dianne’s delivery of ‘the Muppets’ made me think she was over it. Or rather, that at least she would have appreciated a non-muppets type number for once. But that could admittedly could just be me projecting

She probably was over it. Last three years she’s had animated character in a stupid costume/body paint Can’t imagine the frustration when your cast mates are getting to be beautiful Disney princess’s and Bond girls and your stuck with miss piggy. I know I’d be over it.

my money is on Dianne being very difficult to work with since she’s found her sugglet insta fame.
She never seems dedicated to the show anymore.

listen I hate them both! Ant
more than Dec but that’s beside the point 😂
But they do attract an audience and tess
and claudia,
Meh. And Claudia’s ditzy act is very fake after a while.
And when I see Tess i think “wonder if vernon ever shagged away from home again”
Literally that’s it 🤷‍♀️
Don’t agree with you, I think Dianne’s one of the most hard working dedicated pros and if you look at what Roberts wife said about Dianne, which she didn’t need to say, it’s clear there was no problem with dianne and in fact dianne did everything to help him
