I'm fed up of Robert, he looks like he's not enjoying it (I mean, who would having to wear what he wore but I also don't think the partnership has clicked) and I don't particularly like Dianne either so I kind of hope they'll go on Saturday. Though I think the writing's on the wall for Greg or Dan first.

I’ve been a huge Robert/Peep Show/Mitchell & Webb fan for years and I was madly excited when he was announced as a contestant, but I don’t think he’s having a great experience. They’re determined to make him into the Komedy Kontestant, presumably because they shied away from it last year in the interests of ‘decorum’, and I’m not convinced Dianne is great at working with her celebrity’s capabilities. Other than Joe (who arguably had a huge fan base voting for him), she’s always been second or third boot, and she’s a pushover when it comes to stupid costumes and themes.
They are a slightly odd pairing. Robert would probably have been better with Luba or Karen.

I wanted to post something about their partnership in the Joe Sugg thread but forgot...So I haven't watched all of their interviews and VTs but he comes across as very shy and awkward (exactly the type I was hoping she'd NOT get after Dev and Max lol).
And I don't understand why some people on Twitter are saying that she finally has a partner who actually wants to be there because like yourself, I don't get the impression at all!?

I would love to have seen Robert with Luba or Karen! I'm sure Karen would have been able to get the best out of him while making a good friendship.

Speaking of Luba, I thought she was wonderful on choreography corner. No silly metaphors like Joanne and she explained it all so well. She's also absolutely beautiful 😍

New to this thread 👋🏻

I was never keen on Anton as a pro but I really wanted to him on Stephs Packed Lunch & I think he is a fab judge. He’s got the dance & show experience & gives good critiques. Shirleys judging is so inconsistent, forgetting about mistakes cos it’s week 3 WTF?

I don’t think we will see Gorka back next year, something seems off with him and/or someone at the BBC hates him. I remember him liking loads of tweets about how he should have stood in for Neil instead of Kevin! He obviously couldn’t be arsed on ITT tonight but by god being pissed off looka good on him!

Completely agree, that was what I was saying last week. His samba is not going to be good but he danced for his sister, did Bond and I think he’ll happily bow out now.

Im still shocked at the “it’s week 3, I’m not bothered about mistakes” rhetoric. I wonder if someone did tell Shirley to wind her neck in re the bitching so she’s being a bit snide in another way (she didn’t appear to be ignoring everyone’s mistakes)

Well it couldn’t literally be Alisha because she’s already been on, I think @jfletcher was meaning a good dancer who is popular with the public
Sorry I was being 'funny' I know alesha has been on before she became a judge, her and Ian were fab, as were Zoe and Ian

I reckon they thought Bill Bailey was going to be the comedy act last year. I agree with you I think he would have did better with another partner

For me, Robert is giving off the sort of vibes I'd expect - that the whole thing is a bit twee and silly, and slightly beneath him, but he's signed up now so he might as well get on with it. Maybe he might enjoy it a bit if it gets to do a couples choice?

Last year, I was worried that Bill would be like this and was pleasantly surprised when he embraced the whole experience

I read an interview with Robert from before Saturday in which he said that Dianne had modified the quickstep choreography because he was struggling with a section of it.

I like Robert but don't like his partnership with Dianne

I’m surprised at Craig this year, you could always depend on him to be honest but fair too - he was a bit “pantomime villain” at times but on the whole, you knew that what he said was genuine.

I think Craig is a bit put out with Anton being there but Anton is the best judge for me. He probably knows the others don’t like him there (there’s no way he couldn’t have seen the clip of Witches of Elstree rolling their eyes at him) but as you say, he’s judging the dancing rather than trying to be popular
He knows what he is talking about after being a pro for so long, he’s being constructive and kind as he has had some horrible critiques of his partners and his choreography at times and he is also friends with the other professionals in the way the other judges are not. So I think they are threatened. I think the DWTS judges would feel the same way about Derek - don’t know how good a judge he is.
