Lenny my friend, I will join you. Shippers need to give their heads a wobble and realise that they are obsessing over real people.

It is ridiculous to say that AJ would only ever want to dance with Kai, or that Kai had to refrain from gushing over AJ for the sake of Maisie - er, maybe he just didn't want to? At the end of the day, theirs was a professional partnership and I don't see it being anything more special than any other tbh.

Yeah, but they could have put Jamie with Katya? not that I am desperate for Jamie to dance again! and he seems to be promoting his various business ventures so maybe too busy. Last year was thin on the ground for male celebs wasn't it? once you exclude Bill, I guess HRVY is the other obvious contender.

yeah true! He does seem to have got very busy with work and just got engaged etc

I get the impression that some of her fans have got an inflated sense of AJ’s prominence on Strictly. There seems to be this sentiment that AJ and Kai were the couple of the 2021 series, her showdance was the big selling point of the tour, Maisie is now stepping into a huge void left by AJ, and AJ must be allowed to return to the Strictly dance floor next series. It was the same way some of them were suggesting they postpone the final for a week or into the New Year so she could compete.

You are so right. I just don't get it. She was in a dance off, so hardly the most popular with the general public in a strong cast this year. I really like AJ - she seemed a nice, down to earth woman with humour and style. And dance ability. But they go on like she is Beyonce. Which she certainly isn't.
 
Just cheered myself up by booking Firedance in Bournemouth in March - so will get a Karen and Gorka fix at least!

to be fair she couldn't avoid the dance off that time as only 5 acts, and was put at the bottom because of the dodgy lift,. Even with second place in public vote it wouldn't have been enough. At least they redeemed themselves by doing it correctly and ousted Dan in the process (as lovely as Dan is, he was staying in when other more talented folks were going out).

Some of the comments under Kai's post included a few begging him not to dance AJ's showdance with Maisie - why on earth would Maisie do someone else's dance? Bizarre

Also, it's a bloody showdance - 99% of them are underwhelming. The odds are it's not going to be the greatest dance ever

it's weird - they've already said it will be Maisie's quickstep and samba - not that hard to find out! Of course he won't do an AJ dance with Maisie, she has her own story to replay - he's just the drafted in pro.
From what I've heard about and seen clips of the AJ showdance, it looked extremely good. I would love to see it at some point, more for curiosity than anything.

I didn't like the sound of their showdance. A medley of stuff they'd already done set to a song that didn't match either ballroom, Charleston, jive or whatever they were trying to do in couples choice.

I do think by the time summer rolls around and a new series is on the horizon, everybody (AJ and Kai included) will have moved on. The world keeps turning.

I have images of carnage in arenas up and down the country as crazy shippers go mad because Maisie has been employed to do a job




I’m surprised they haven’t turned on AJ for not having bionic bones!

As a regular contributor to the Strictly Come Dancing thread, I have learned about ‘shipping’: There was blatant shipping for Rose and Gio even though Rose has a boyfriend and I don’t know if that’s going on but there appears to be continuing shipping for AJ and Kai which may seem less...

I presume he’ll be on tour for a lot of it, but yes I hope he does, as he was a big part of the show for 4 years.
