I don’t think she’s pushed it or used it for sympathy at all so if just existing and being deaf constitutes looking for the sympathy vote then for the sake of all the ableists, we better just stick to people with no disabilities from now on then…
 
Whoever wins and comes runners up there’s going to be someone amongst the professionally offended who finds fault (ableism/racism/homophobia)so tbh they’re all kind of shafted in way.

Yes, the RIO fans doing that on Emma’s post was disgusting. Being so rude about AJ! FFS, AJ is Emma’s best friend! Of course she going to put an encouraging post for her. I put an encouraging reply anyway.

Im more than entitled to an opinion. I think rose is an excellent dancer as are the other two but the public have played on the sympathy element, as very fairly pointed out you could argue that for all of them. I’m just looking forward to a good final!

I think criticism of Rose's dancing is fair game - her Latin can be a bit clumpy and her footwork isn't always very neat. She has been overmarked for some dances which weren't technically perfect.

But it isn't cool to suggest she's only got the sympathy vote, and neither would it be cool to suggest AJ or John did.

See I would say the same thing about AJ, anytime something less than positive is said about her on here one of her fans will leap to her defense.

Everyone gets a little crazy supporting their faves 🤷‍♀️

You can’t ignore the fact that she’s deaf as she signs when she’s talking. I don’t recall her specifically mentioning she’s deaf all the time unless someone else brings it up

As you say she's not going to pretend to hear just to appease the haters
 
I just think it's really nasty to be like 'Rose should be less deaf to make it more fair' lmao. She came on SCD to show the deaf community they can dance, and given she literally can't hear the music and is still so good I think that's pretty incredible to be honest.
And before anyone thinks I'm a Rose stan tbh I'm probably going to vote for John because I just love him. I just do not understand this 'sympathy' vote thing at all with Rose. Or any of them, actually.

But the whole point of a forum is differing opinions - we don’t have to sit back and agree with people.

Someone said the other day Rose jumping up and down annoyed them and a couple of people said they thought her leg action at the end of her AT wasn’t great - those are criticisms and I don’t remember anyone arguing (I certainly didn’t). But if someone says she’s going for the sympathy vote because she’s deaf and I don’t agree with it, I’m going to counter it.

You can be not a fan of someone and still think they have talent, she’s not my cuppa but doesn’t mean she’s not good. I stand by the sympathy vote has carried her from time to time- her fault? No. Agree to disagree
 
They’re the 3 best dancers. Of them John is the weakest. AJ and Rose both have things they struggle with technically. None of them is perfect or a ringer. That’s why it’s such a brilliant line up for a final, and what a bonus that it happens to be so diverse.

Rhys and Tilly were also great but perhaps not dynamic enough to be finalists given there were only 3 slots.

IMAGINE if the final had been Tom, Dan and Adam 😴
