I had no idea there was a. strictly thread on here! I have yet to read through but let me just say that I'm very excited for Peaty, Greg Wise and Robert Webb. I'm not from the UK so will have to find some way around the internet, which I was able to do last year, which my fave won btw 🥰

Since I'm not from the UK I'm never really that familiar with all the stars, especially if they come from soaps or those morning tv shows. Comedians I'm very familiar with. But always excited to get to know them 😁

Yeah the pros are currently filming the group dances at Elstree. Dan Walker just said on Breakfast that they'll be meeting their partners in a few days and then the first show will be shown on the 18th, so they're sticking with the pairing format from last year.
 
There are some leaks coming out about the version in America - both Jojo Siwa and Lori Loughlin's daughter are in. Definitely going for controversy there! 😬

I just got an email saying I’d been unsuccessful for tickets on the 11th so they must be doing the pairings the ‘old’ way. Yowsers, it’s nearly time!!

Here's what Dan Walker said, it will be like last year where the launch show is filmed on the 11th, but the celebs will have already met their partners beforehand.
I wonder if any of the pairings will be leaked before then? I think it was only Nicola and Katya that got leaked last year :unsure:

Sorry UT, I didn’t read all the posts before I posted. I definitely preferred it last year but I guess it does run the risk of more spoilers

They might want to keep a close eye on the voting patterns where she is concerned, eh? 😉

Oh so if they’ve already met beforehand will we still see a clip of them initially meeting them and discovering who they are anyway? I kind of like to see the look on their faces when they realise who it is.

If it’s just them going ‘Hi I’m Dan Walker. You may know me for……………… Let me introduce you to my dance partner X” and then a bit of general conflab then I’m kind of disappointed

Oh yeah, we'll still see the moment when they find out who their partner is, but I assume it will be like last year when their first meetings were pre-recorded in different locations instead of in the studio during the recording of the launch show :)

That’s good as I liked that format. As you said, the in studio version where they were all lined up looked a bit like Blind Date or like an old fashioned American school dance where you are waiting to be paired up and the last ones standing are lumbered with whoever is left.

At least with the on location format it’s a surprise for everyone, in the studio the element of surprise with the last two standing has gone and they have to conjure up this fake enthusiasm when they go to hug their new partner
