Every dog has their day on Strictly and I thought he was annoyingly good. He had the benefit of the proper costumes and music too - it wouldn’t have been as effective if he’d got a random song - but he danced it well imo.

I do think that with Robert pulling out he won’t get to the final - I’m clinging on to that hope in fact - as him, Amy, his wife…insufferable and screechy
 
Looking on James Jordan's twitter feed has left me feeling disappointed in Dan. JJ say he hopes AJ stops going on about never having danced before (she didn't mention it this week so not sure why he said it in the first place) Dan's reply of
'I’m aware I’m ignorant about all this but can you really tell if someone has danced before? How do you know she hasn’t?'

It just comes across as bitchy. It's implying she is lying, it has been said plenty of times she hasn't so he is fully aware and there is zero evidence to suggest otherwise. JJ said very early on ( as has others in the know) they can tell just by looking she hasn't had any training, just like JJ could tell John had some dance training.

As a Christian it's a huge NO to cast doubt on someone's honesty.

I’m not a Dan Stan in the slightest (although my recent posts might not do me any favours 😂) but I read “can you really tell if someone has danced before” as - you (James) seem to think she has but she said she hasn’t so are you sure you can tell the difference. And then he’s asking him to confirm how he’s so sure she hasn’t - again I’m taking that as is it really not possible for someone to be able to dance like that if they’ve had no dance experience.

The fact he started with “hope all is well” could be read as him laying the ground work for disagreeing with him 🤷🏻‍♀️

ooh I just looked at his tweet. I think he was honestly misinterpreting James as implying AJ had danced before (which I don’t think he was). But what if Dan is really an evil Machiavellian, sowing doubt about AJ to elbow his way into the final??

for the record my brother’s friend works with Dan at the BBC and really dislikes him but I don’t know why..:unsure:

Is that not Dan sticking up for AJ?

JJ has implied that she’s dishonestly claiming to be a non-dancer, Dan is asking JJ how he can know for definite whether she has or hadn’t had dance experience.

And Sara has 2 young kids and Alijaz seems to have bonded with them but they never mention them. But then again she doesn’t show her kids faces on social media either.

Urgh! I bloody hope not!

I remember Louise Pentland has always been desperate to be on Strictly and at one point I was worried her wish was going to come true but luckily it hasn’t as yet!

The celebs definitely know months in advance of being announced. The producers will already be working on next year's line up.

JJ was poking fun at her lack of dance experience constantly being brought up, I may be misremembering but I'm sure he said early on it was obvious to him she didn't have any experience.
I didn't get the impression Dan was sticking up for her, he is a fan of the show and savvy enough to know a hint of possible dance experience or any doubt can bring negative attention. He spends 6 out of 7 days with a professional dancer he could easily ask Nadia if he was genuinely interested.

Absolutely. The logistics of getting schedules sorted around other commitments must be immense. Bill Bailey could only do last year as his live shows were all cancelled due to the pandemic. Lots of the contestants will have stuff booked years in advance (probably not Rosie Ramsey, mind you, but I can see why they need to start getting cast members pencilled in well ahead of time).
