Sorry but I disagree. I've never liked him on BBC but I'm surprised how endearing I find him and their partnership is really good. He is just a nice guy trying his best and he isn't all that bad (when not given a joke routine). It's boring when everyone is really good, he is like your average guy learning to dance and is improving.

Good grief, hopefully now he’s been sent home she’ll disappear back into obscurity. What a self-involved piece! She seems to delight in him being near the bottom of the leaderboard every week, and then keeps going on about how she’s basically a single mother. Even when she says something nice about him it doesn’t seem sincere

I agree. I just couldn't warm to her at all, she just comes across as quite an insincere person I think.

Also, there was a bit of weirdness with her and the Strictly tour - I was surprised when they didn't ask her to take part (as she seemed like the type of celeb they would usually ask to do it), and assumed she wasn't available. But apparently she made a big fuss of saying she really wanted to do it, it was implied she would be asked so she cleared her diary, and then she didn't make the cut. I feel there is a bit of a story there somewhere - either she's fibbing and wasn't asked in the first place (I get big bullshitter vibes from her in general), she wanted too much money for it, or was a massive diva about it all and they walked away
 
I think everyone on Strictly thought Michelle’s voguing stunt went too far and Giovanni thought she deliberately did something that would get herself eliminated. Vogueing is dancing, but the routine they did was basically walking. They did look amazing, but no one would vote for it in a dancing show. All for the ballroom and gay community is great - but that’s mainly New York and the Strictly audience won’t get that.

Did I read somewhere (or imagine) that Gio didn’t want to do the routine as it was but Michele was insistent. They were an odd pairing too

The whole thing did have the feel of a compromise about it. I thought it might have worked better if they'd done it in the studio in a normal week rather than in Blackpool - the vastness of the ballroom seem to emphasise how poor it was

I saw a few conspiracy theories on DS about how it was all a plot to get rid of her, but I'm going with the more boring explanation of it was just a tit dance that didn't get enough votes

Some weird things about this, apart from giving an interview with the Mail, who've said so many nasty things about the whole thing:
  1. she says they knew nothing about Katya bar how competitive she was, but then later says her sister is a massive Strictly fan. No way her sister wasn't straight on the phone telling her about Seann (or a quick google would do it)
  2. doesn't mention his reaction to her TikTok and whether he was pissed off (which was the impression he gave), and the fact that that exacerbated all the attention. Everything is fine!
  3. Didn't know they all had dinner a few days after the AT. Wonder why she didn't post that (or post that she'd met Katya when she went to the show).

Anyway, she got what she wanted, he's at home now!

I got a real vibe that she was not someone you could say “no” to, so I completely agree about the compromise. I can understand why she would want to do it, it obviously meant a lot to her but I’m sure Gio and the other pros who help out with CC had ideas of what would make it appeal to the larger audience.

And maybe it was easier for to blame people not appreciating the significance of Voguing for her exit 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree. I enjoy everything about their partnership even though the dancing is not great. Feel he is coming to the end of his time though, especially if he starts to plateau instead of improving

Her and Gio seem be friends still, though I get the impression she is much more into the friendship than he is. I thought they would have been better at the time recreating the Vogue video, which has some actual dance steps in, rather than the MTV performance which is just walking around despite the fab costumes. Also, despite claiming she invented vogueing, or whatever, Gio was a hundred times better than her at it!

I’m going to third this, I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying him dancing! He knows he’s not the best but appreciates still being there, there have been no sob stories, he’s mentioned his wife and kids an appropriate amount (I’m looking at you McFurlough!) and after however many years I feel we’re getting to see the real Nadiya.

I think Rhys is technically a better dancer but his frantic style and sulking when he gets any sort of critique mean I would have Rhys leave before Dan

It was the line about being home alone with the baby since he was born. That felt rather mean, she got pregnant after one date and he's a young Olympian in an Olympic year what did she think it was going to be like with him?

Janette ITT I love her outfits (VickyGiggles must be her bff) and like the glamour instead of Zoe's black theme outfits (loved her clothes just not the only black).
But Janette is killing me, she talks over and she just wants to show off singing and dancing, and every song is her favourite ever song. Calm down, imagine if her and Rhys had been partnered! 😳
