The only info I have is that my dad and stepmum went to the 2016 recording in Blackpool. They were one of the last ones in the queue to get in and they were sat really high up, in seats at the back of the ballroom. However it turned out that just behind them is where the dancers and contestants were, prior to going on to do their dances, so got the opportunity to speak to a few.

They said Brendan and Anton were really funny and chatty with them and Greg Rutherford was very nice too but he was so, so nervous.

Now, I know this is not going to be popular ...... but I can only repeat what they said, which was that Danny Mac was horrible - came across as very arrogant to them. Agreed he was a really good dancer but they wanted anyone to win but him, after that.

This is funny how people see people differently -I’ve met Danny and Carly Stenson his partner a few times through work and he has always been absolutely lovely and my friend that is in Pretty Woman with him says he’s so kind too 😂

I have no evidence for this but from the beginning I bet the only reason they were allowed to spend so much on costumes was that they would sell them to recover some of the budget. Strictly is a hugely expensive show and the BBC has to be seen to be counting pennies (while it flings the quids at tax avoiding talent). Also the fact it licences Strictly around the world. I was thinking what would the worldwide state of ballroom and Latin be without Strictly starting all those years ago? It must have boosted interest in many countries.

Some go on to be used on other countries version of strictly

Some go back to DSI and are for sale (and possibly rental if there is such as service)

Some go into the elstree charity sale. Stuff that can’t be reused such as themed costumes.

Other stuff might “mysteriously disappear” into contestants homes 😂

Karim still has his quickstep suit, saw him say that he wore it as a last minute halloween costume 😂
