I ended up replying to one of these shippers on twitter last night asking where does Rose’s boyfriend fit in this and they never responded lol. Can’t let reality affect the shipping bubble I guess.
 
I find it disappointing and really quite off-putting that Rose and Giovanni are playing up to the showmance angle. They could have said no to the way that photoshoot was posed.

Rose is Strictly's first deaf contestant with a completely different way of responding to the music. They don't need to do the usual "Ooh, Giovanni's falling for his partner" as it cheapens how amazing she really is.

The DS shippers are not normal people. Remember the manic Matt & Flavia stans? And the Ali/Brian nutters who actually made pilgrimages to places where they had rehearsed - AFTER the show had finished!!! 😱

It’s truly bizarre isn’t it especially with the soft focus on the pictures

What on earth were they thinking and trying to achieve? Also as someone else said if Katya & Adam had done something like this they would have been tarred and feathered (Katya more so) and been dragged over the coals yet with these two it’s “Aah how sweet”

Rose already has a story with her deafness. She is already in the public’s consciousness so these publicity stunts is not required. Let your talent and your natural chemistry with Gio do all the talking

Yeah, the S*n the other day had a non-story about how Adam's gf should be worried about his 'hug' with Katya: meanwhile Rose and Gio are gazing at each other while she's sitting on his knee (!) and everyone is 'aw! so sweet! she must dump her deaf boyfriend!'.

And for those who say that Katya 'has form', Georgia had a bf when her and Gio got together!

Unpopular opinion perhaps but I don’t think either Rose or Gio are trying to make it look like anything is going on. From the little I’ve seen, it looks like the Hello thing a spoof, possibly at the expense of how it’s always reported he’s in love with his partners - along the same lines as they’re taking the mick out of being asked to do more SM content.

I have nothing at all against Katya, I think she’s an asset to the show due to her choreography. Adam is a little too arrogant for me but I don’t dislike him. But…there was no need for them to be holding hands there really. I don’t know if that was filmed before or after the almost kiss - which was an actual event, nobody made a story out of him nearly kissing her, we all saw it - but he has got a girlfriend. Obviously they knew they were being filmed so they could say “we wouldn’t be so blatant if there was something going on” but some people will look at that and think they’re doing it to be spoken about or something is going on. And some people will think it’s being disrespectful to his girlfriend again

Based on this, I wouldn't mind being taught by any of them apart from Neil. Aljaz seems like he'd be a great teacher. Constantly very affirmative. Kai and Nikita seem to have calming teaching energy. Nadiya and Dan and John and Johannes also seem relaxed and like they can having a giggle, as do Oti and Ugo. Dianne's explaining the counting in a way which is understandable for a beginner. Also based on this Nancy and Rhys have a better rapport than I was assuming they did.

Right, but I wonder if people would think Rose sitting on Gio's lap was disrespectful to her bf, spoof or not, given that people are openly wishing for the poor (deaf) bloke to be dumped? (for the record, I don't think Rose is interested in him).

Theres a reason I don’t go on Twitter and Digital Spy etc and it’s because of this reason. People are weird. I can’t believe this whole shipping thing is even a thing, it blows my mind!

Rose and her boyfriend are hopefully rock solid and they take all this bullshit with a punch of salt. I doubt anyone forced Rose to do that Hello thing - not Giovanni or Strictly - she strikes me as someone who wouldn’t let anyone push her around. And if she loves her boyfriend and he loves her, he probably supports her 100% in her decisions. Maybe he saw the article as an extension to the character/acting element of Strictly? We’ll probably never know, he seems quite private.

I don’t think them doing the Hello thing is comparable to Adam almost kissing Katya and them holding hands in any way, shape or form. I read a few comments here people saying they hope Giovanni wasn’t manipulating a situation and I’m giving my take on it.
 
Was Neil trying to be funny in that training footage or what? Probably just don't get his sense of humour but that comment from a teacher would make me feel a bit uncomfortable.

Bring back Nina for a Christmas special one day with a different pro and see how she manages (at least Alex got those 2 weeks with Kevin).

Yes, that makes sense. I stand by what I said though - they're playing into the hands of the weirdoes and they don't need another angle - Rose's achievements as a non-hearing person are incredible enough without silly photo shoots to make people think they're together. Don't know about you, but I don't sit on any of my male friend's laps.

No idea why Adam and Katya were holding hands though. The distance they were standing apart and the way the way they'd only linked their last fingers reminded me of how little kids do it. 😅

I hope they don’t know about it, it sounds awful! It’s a shame but there are weirdos all over the Internet. That’s why I like it here - we don’t all agree but things are discussed and I’ve certainly looked at things differently on hearing other viewpoints.

Like I say, I don’t know when the hand holding thing was filmed but if it was after the almost kiss, it’s pretty poor given we all saw his girlfriend’s reaction. Plus she’s young and at home with a baby so I think he could’ve been a bit more respectful. I can only imagine the reaction here if it was Dan and Nadiya holding hands while talking about what they had for lunch…
