JJ Chalmers and his professional partner, Amy Dowden, have won an army of fans on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing

I’m sorry if this had been shared before, if it has I don’t remember! I honestly do genuinely feel awful for what JJ has been through and I can appreciate getting so far in Strictly is such a triumph for him and he’s definitely a “journey” contestant... but I also feel like this article was really heavy, it’s basically like - here’s everything JJ has been through which means he deserved to win the most not because of dancing ability (in a dance competition, may I add) but because of his strength and bravery.
I feel like with everything in the press and all the VTs, it doesn’t feel genuine? JJ doesn’t seem like he wants all of this, all the attention and pity votes... why would you go through all of that pain and recovery just to use it as a bid to win a competition? It really feels like either Amy is so desperate for the win she’s helping get all these stories out in a plea to get everyone on team
Amy JJ, of someone else perhaps the producers.
I think I could say that if it was without the whole pity party it would be much more genuine and a lot more of us would get on their side, but then I also believe that Amy is kind of scary and also that JJ lacks something in personality, which now I come to think of it could be a result of all his pain meds currently? Not sure, but I can imagine they’re pretty strong and take a lot out of you, maybe why he’s always got a shocked expression on his face.
(for someone who said just two days ago she was going to boycott SCD2020 because of this guy I invested a lot of time writing and contemplating this, ha!) (edited grammatical/punctuation errors)
