Stay Close - Netflix

I really disliked this.I'm a big fan of Harlan Coben but it feels wrong that his books, which are extremely American in tone, are filmed in the UK.It just doesn't work.

Ahhhh is he American then? I enjoyed this but I found it odd that the nightclub was in quite a remote location you drive to, it didn't feel like something you'd get in the UK but is more common in the US. Same with the first adaption set in a gated community.

It is odd that Netflix seem to be adapting his books in different countries and languages.

I've not read the book so don't have an issue with it not being American but can see why people don't like shows being made different to a book.

However i do like it the fact it was British as there are so many uk things that have been changed to American so makes a change. I much prefer British drama over American anyway tbh

I bloody LOVED Rached. Stylistically it was absolutely STUNNING! I love Sarah Paulson she was great in it. And Judy Davis…the cast were great!

i’m 100% giving this a watch tonight! I’ll let you know what I think!!

Have you watched Safe on Netflix? It’s another Harland Corben.

It’s actually a real night club! Or used to be before it shut down years ago. It was a spa, nightclub, retreat in Formby woods! Popular with celebs and footballers back in the day! My cousin used to work there.

There were a fair few no way would that happen moments for my boyfriend and I.
I enjoyed it overall even though it was a bit silly, but I was shouting at the screen in disbelief a few times, example:
HOW did the redhead inspector’s phone end up stashed in his door? Couldn’t have been the assassins as they wouldn’t have left the stolen crime scene evidence

I agree, that made zero sense. Another thing that would never happen - when Broome and Erin just entered the lair willy nilly with the door wide open. They could have been followed and 100% would have died in there! I know it's a TV show but I felt there were too many flaws!

I can't express how much I disliked Stay Close... There were a fair few no way would that happen moments for my boyfriend and I. We only really finished it because it was a short series.

The last episode felt incredibly rushed and sloppy. I'm shocked at the amount of positive reviews here!
I didnt enjoy watching it. I was sorta forcing myself to so I could find out what happened at the end. It was crap

Feel let down by this one compared to other HC series on Netflix, my other half called it about 4 episodes in. We watch so many tv dramas like this and never guess what happens so this felt like they dropped too many breadcrumbs for it to be satisfying. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
