Episode 1 out Saturday 3rd October 2020

I think they're releasing them week by week. I'll watch the first one with a trial but don't think there's enough on there I want to watch to warrant another £5.99 a month. Might be a total dud like that animated thing that was touted as the return of spitting image.

How can I watch BritBox?

BritBox has moved home and is now available to watch on ITVX with an ITVX Premium subscription The standalone BritBox app and website are closing permanently

I will wait till they get a DVD release, I have every season ever made, I do hope at least the first episode gets onto youtube,
 
Is it on BritBox because it’s a joint effort by the BBC and ITV and neither wanted the other channel to get the viewers for it or neither channel wanted to deal with the controversy I wonder? I saw already that apparently people are already complaining that it’s racist due to the exaggerated features on ethnic minority characters and offensive because they’ve included Greta Thunberg.

I’ll check out at least the first episode, if someone puts it up on YouTube. Not for nostalgia reasons though - the original used to frighten me as a child 😂

Probably partly due to that but also to give britbox it's first exclusive. Hbo was linked to it when the revival was first mentioned so doubt the BBC or itv ever wanted it on their own brands.

How many subscription services are there now, it’s hard to keep up
 
That was entertaining enough, but not sure many will pay £6 for the privilege.

There was a lot of trump and the virus, I wonder if they quickly recut it to get all the pre recorded stuff in episode 1 incase it escalates?
 
I really want to watch this but I think I'll wait till they're all available and binge on a free trial. I'm assuming the rest of the content is period dramas and true crime I've already seen.

When you go to cancel it then an offer pops up -£10 for 3 months.
 
Good summary of the reviews here, doesn’t seem to have set the world alight. I don’t think I’ll bother. I have some significant objections to even trialling Britbox anyway given it’s 99% just reselling us content we very much already paid in full for one way or another, and keeping some classics off iPlayer and ITV player, where they ought to be.

After further thought I was going to go for the free trial, sadly it's been cut down to a week instead of a month so bollocks to that.

From the clips from Chortle, not bad at all, I'm hoping some one posts it on youtube.

The revival of Spitting Image has divided critics - with early reviews falling into either the two-star or four-star camps.

I'd give it a 2.5 stars, didn't laugh once but somewhat amusing.

Meghan in bed on her phone complaining about trump still being awake and on his phone was probably the highlight.
 
I watched the first episode and it all felt too easy. They didn't do anything innovative or radical, they just took the easy low hanging fruit of jokes to make and it was all very predictable and just didn't push the boundaries at all. It was just too safe really.

I would have liked to see it as I loved the original series, but I’m not paying for it. Hopefully it will pop up for free somewhere later on 😁

Interesting! I didn't think the trump stuff was that good (although things like that wet asshole puppet I really dislike🤢)

Compared to something like dead ringers it's dire. I wish radio 4 would make more as it's been years now, that's genuinely hilarious comedy.
