I’ve just finished rewatching and my biggest take from it is that Big did nothing wrong . She tried to force their relationship to be something it wasn’t rather than admit it wasn’t working and move on. Although I can relate to that massively which is probably why it annoyed me so much

She really did, turning up at the church to spy on him & his mother! Cringe! Though we've all been there in some form

Wow a new series announced, I’m excited but will miss Samantha/Kim she’s great in it. Wonder how they will write her out of it...hopefully something not too savage to spite her, because putting it mildly they do not get on....

Watched it at the time and enjoyed it. Samantha was outrageously funny. I’ve never rewatched so maybe she isn’t in this day and age. Tried watching the film when released but found it awful. I think the series was quirky and very different when released and of its time.

Yeah I agree. I've always wanted to see an update to the ladies and I suppose it could potentially be good to develop on their lives now, but it won't be the same without Samantha.

I'm really hoping it isn't a car crash of a series!

I won’t miss Samantha. Her character was only interesting when she was in relationships and had feelings.

I don't think I could watch it without Sam TBH. I suppose out of all the girls she's the easiest to kill off; she's older and has already gone through cancer

I'm not happy Miranda ended up with Steve too. I was initially until he cheated. I hated the narrative that it was her fault he cheated.

Urgh! Samantha and Charlotte are the only characters I like, I don't think they need to bring it back so pointless

Carrie is the worst character, I don't care what she's doing now.

Let me guess Mr Big is having a midlife crises? Or maybe Mr Big is dead and the girls reunite for his funeral but Samantha can't come because she's stuck in London and Carrie has a night with Aiden

Hmmmm not sure how I feel about a new series. Somethings are better left alone and I’m sure SATC is one of them, but I’ll probably still watch and hope it’s good. We will defiantly notice Samatha is absent, she was too big of a character!

I’m happy about it. Women in their 50’s on TV being glamorous and having lives, it’s sorely needed.

I really don’t think it will work without Samantha don’t get me wrong I will still watch it but she was such a great character! Intrigued to see how it’s going to work out, hopefully no more Carrie/Big/Aidan drama

I know they were going to kill off Big in the third movie which would have been interesting, particularly if he had a secret love child that turned up at the funeral, Carrie would have been gutted!
But if they now kill off Samantha, I can’t see them killing off Big too?

Just read an article saying it’s going to be 10 half hour episodes and they will start filming in the spring in NY.
I’m torn - the movies, esp the 2nd, ruined it for me if I’m honest. Just made them into such spoilt ridiculous characters. Won’t be the same without Samantha and are married women in their 50s as exciting as single 20/30 somethings? (No offence meant, but hopefully you know what I mean!)

Maybe they are not as exciting to some, but they do still exist!
It would be nice to see them on TV rather than them just being invisible, which is what society seems to want

A very bad move to not let it rest in peace, but I'll probably watch it. Although id rather a more Emily in Paris for something ridiculous to escape with.

Sarah Jessica Parker is way less liked than she used to be and I'm noticing quite a lot more people are on Kim cattrall's side.
