As a bisexual woman though, its frustrating to be told "to make our minds up". We don't have to pick a side because we are attracted to both sexes. It doesn't mean we are going to cheat or are espcially promiscuous. To be told " to pick a side" is extremely biphobic. Just like you can't choose being attracted to the the same sex we can't choose being attracted to both? I'm not saying that dating a bi man wouldn't come with questions, but Charlotte's 1950s opinion about bisexuality is dated and the episode wouldn't wash in 2021.
Well I agree, but some people do think like this, so I see no problem in portraying it. It's reality. I think dramas are so scared now of having characters talk how people do in real life. Everything has to be a politically correct projection.

I'm sorry " the dumbness is a reflection of how most straight people are"?! Iam straight and I actually don't know anyone else who is straight who has those views on bisexuality. both of my serious ex boyfriends have been bi and I couldn't care less. judgemental statements like yours are dumb imo
Ironic 🤣

I agree, I'm not condemning the producers use of it, but its natural to be reactive is all I'm saying. Charlotte said a lot of tit throughout the years, she was my least favourite.

I think it definitely depends on the way that it's done. If a comment like Charlotte's 'pick a side' is made to challenge the comment then fine (I do think that was the intention of the episode). But the way some people speak in real life shouldn't be given space on TV (not an issue with SATC I don't think though) - and I don't think that's a problem of being too politically correct.

Where I do think some shows go to far is when every storyline has to revolve around a social issue. Don't get me wrong there is definitely a need for more diverse characters and how race, sexism, homophobia affect them but it doesn't need to be shoehorned into every storyline of the show. Then at the other extreme, a character of colour is introduced and many are like "god why is everything so woke" which I find absolutely ridiculous - if someone is upset the full cast is no longer white then the problem is with themselves.

Sorry went on a bit of a ramble 😂 but I do find this topic of dicussion and everyones comments v interesting.

Love this, hbo max are really missing out on a trick not getting this guy with a budget to make an exclusive show! Could be done pretty inexpensively and is far better than getting the rights to friends.

But if a drama is set in 17th century Scotland say, and lots of the cast are black, you just know an agenda is being pushed, and people correctly resent this.

I wasnt talking about the show but about the comment made by a poster. I agree 20 years ago that view of bisexuality was pretty common I definitely remember people saying stuff like that when I was at school
They still do. I think it's still common even among my gay friends.

I think as long as laws are protecting minorities that's all you can hope for. The only way you can rid society if all negative views is through thought policing and police states . Not for me thanks.

I was hoping netflix would! so hilarious, especially samantha, she was spot on!

well done you 👍🏻
I did not say this as some kind of weird brag, I had no idea they were bi (actually randomly discovered by internet history 😂) the point is I think (or thought anyway) that it was less of a big deal than now, but having read other posts here iguess it is not. quite depressing really. anyway back on topic do we think miranda will still be married?

I really wish he would do more, but this feels like a final one :(

I imagine it's just him and a few friends and he doesn't even make minimum wage for the amount of hours put into it so it's pretty exausting and takes out most of the fun.

Streaming platforms are chucking money at garbage from tried and tested people when they should be looking for new talent! Apple spent $300 million on the kinda good/alright morning show

I know this man is so funny, the bit in Carries xmas 2021 when she drives the scooter into the hedge has me in FITS. I also agree that platforms are investing silly money into thing s that are just ok-someone like Shonda Ryimes should absolutely be getting 100 million deals from Netflix, Harry and Megan getting the same deal equals a complete waste of money. Especially when there is so much talent on tik tok and Instagram, this young man did a whole soap opera over lock down and it is amazing.

my favourite is the episode with all 4 of them and carrie pretends to have corona. Miranda's "oh god samantha" is just perfect
