This interview goes some way towards explaining the discontinuity in the episodes. It’s not just that the scenes with Big have been cut, but also the Stanford ones. Apparently he was in every episode. Why cut him? (Edit: maybe he was just scripted to be in all of the scenes.)

Yeah I guess it means he was written into all episodes but then they had to write him out and didn’t have time to re-write the remaining episodes. Such a shame.

I found that MPK interview really hard to follow. So Stanford was written into all the episodes, but Willie became ill and couldn’t film them, and despite his role being a fundamental part of the plot development they just took those scenes out and hoped for the best “because it was so sad”? I’m sure it was very sad indeed, but that seems like an odd approach for a group of professional storytellers.

Yeah Berger was the worst, especially Carrie constantly saying the word Berger as if that really was his name. He was so immature! Them two together just felt so forced it was cringe worthy! Also, watching them at the restaurant getting drunk then coming back and Carrie trying to drunkenly seduce him. 😣
I love that! SJP was hilarious drunk, it's probably the only time I enjoyed her in that season 🤣

Documentary for AJLT will be out the same day as the finale. I am going to skip this and read the footnotes elsewhere I think.

I feel like the documentary will be a pile of behind the scenes footage cobbled together with the cast desperately trying to explain what went on and why.

A bit like when someone begs for a second chance, "I promise I'll try harder next time, please, pleeeaaase"

yeh i dont get it at all, they should have addef more scenes or something. either way none of this excuses the nonsensicalness of things like no mención of the cleveland trip etc

just reminiscing about one of my fave ever episode of SATC. How i long for these sort of episodes!!!!!! Absolutely iconic!
The dancing with Big as he leaves for nappa to 'Moon River', the 'you take a nappa, you don't move to nappa' line! Carries shoes and outfits! 😍😍😍, Samantha donning that wig and finding Richard cheating on her 'now Your hearts broken too' 😔😔 and of course her classic line when miranda gives birth 'just what the world needs....another boy!' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 an absolute classic episode! And of course the dedication at the end......None of the AJLT even comes close to a minute of this episode! Im just going to erase AJLT from memory, it's done an injustice to SATC.

You know, this scene, I absolutely adore Carrie's outfit, so simple yet perfect. I used to try and copy her outfits with high street styles and this one was a fim favourite 🤣

Yes, to me it really doesn’t wash at all to say that the tragedy of Willie’s death made him incapable of dealing with the Stanford situation at all even though Stanford was absolutely central to the development of the series.

Anyway be that as it may it doesn’t explain how all the rest of this nonsense came to be.

yeh i think it is an insult to willie and how central he was to the show tbh

I watched the Atlantic City episode last night, god Carrie was awful, all about her. Pressurising Miranda to leave her young baby at home with Steve, tell Charlotte what to do on her birthday. The only redeeming feature of that episode what Samantha’s iconic line ‘I love you Richard, but I love me more’.
I had to tell myself that more than once in my twenties!
