What aways annoyed me about the series was that you never really got any background to any of the four main characters - just tiny glimpses.

I think Samantha made reference to a large family but nothing more. Miranda had sisters that showed up briefly during her mother’s funeral. Charlotte had a brother Wesley that slept with Samantha and then disappeared (don’t think he was at either of her weddings and did her dad walk her down the aisle when she married Trey?).

Carrie we knew her dad left at an early age but then nothing more is revealed. Like seeing that Big had a brother I was like what?!

Most people probably don’t care but I really enjoy hearing backstories to characters you’ve known for a long time.
Charlottes dad did walk her down the aisle because she and Carrie has their not quiet convo about how Trey couldn’t get it up/maybe he jerked off before you got there and her dad walked up to them just then so he must have heard and that was weird.

Miranda’s teeth… yea they don’t look right. They look totally flat at the front and grey?!
Look great to me. A+ for the dentist

The series has been so up and down for me. Some glimpses of the older seasons, particularly for Charlotte and Carrie.

But I'm still undecided on whether it was a necessary addition.

Do we think it's season 2 worthy?

A second series will happen if the views remain at a good level - the content of the show or whether it’s season 2 worthy is irrelevant.

I want to see it go 10 seasons, at which point they'll resemble melting Madame Tussauds Waxworks

Do you not think that they get work done because they know they’ll be reduced to nothing but their looks though?

I read my interview by Kristin Davis where she bought a chocolate bar and was judged by the woman who served her and told her she was the biggest one on the show.

Biggest as in body size? KD has a fantastic figure but I have to say that the clothes they’re putting her aren’t doing any favours. They’re all cinched really tightly at the waist and look like they’re a size too small.

I said this a few threads ago - she looks fantastic (fillers not what I mean), but she she's absolutely bet into these clothes. They don't suit or work and just one size bigger would look lovely.

I don’t know ... it just saddens me a bit that their looks get brought up so much in such a negative way and it’s ok to laugh at their appearance because they got filler.

When I feel like if the person making those comments did a tv show 20 years apart then they might also consider filler themselves. Because if you had millions of negative comments a day about your appearance then maybe you’d start feeling very self conscious too.

They can’t win. I hate all the nasty comments about their looks and who has aged best (that’s just luck and genetics).

I have to be honest that I wouldn't usually hate on anyone for their looks but couldn't resist commenting on Cynthia's weird teeth because I bleeping hate what she has done to Miranda and the part she's played in this mess of a show. Very immature of me I'm sure.

I don't think I'm alone though and I suspect if the show wasn't so dire and the characters so inane and and writing so hideous, and the 3 of them as Exec Producers hadn't happily allowed this to happen, people wouldn't be so pissed off and keen to have a dig on the looks front.

I don’t like commenting on people’s looks either (unless it’s maybe Eddie Izzard 😂) but I think the ladies all look great and as much as I’m annoyed at Cynthia Nixon for completely changing Miranda into Cynthia Nixon, I have to say I think she looks the best out of all three. She is very pretty. The wigs they’ve been putting in her are a bit weird but she suits the grey. There I said it.

I find it such a shame that they have let a good opportunity to go to waste.

They could have shown women their age thriving, and being confident in their life choices and being happy in life in general (i know that doesnt make good storylines) but they have gone down the stereotypical view (in younger people’s eyes) of women their age being miserable and unhappy when its far from the truth, everyone I know around their age are living their best lives atm

I totally agree. I think there can be some difficult times as you realise your desirability has faded (in terms of no longer being stared at by random blokes in the street) but with that comes the realisation of how exhausting and limiting is that feeling of constantly viewing yourself as someone else might see you. The self-consciousness vanishes and makes way for a much deeper and gentler understanding of what things are about.

I think you could get some great story lines out of that, with the usual kind of challenges that life presents and characters who respond to those challenges in a way that real human beings do. But that would require writers who actually have a clue.

This ❤️ So true!

Not sure if this has already been posted. Good article.

Good read! I also love how it mentioned that ridiculous waddle away Miranda did when she spotted Brady, she looked like she’d tit herself 😂 and they kept playing it every time it hit an ad break and we had to see that sweet Microsoft word art ‘and just like that…’ title, I was hooting!
