That was bordering on a good episode. The more Anthony and Seema the better.

Not sure if I like the new apartment or not, might be nice for a holiday but not to live in. Also the island wobbled a worrying amount when slamming the dishwasher. Not the quality cabinetry you'd expect when spending millions on a flat. Can anyone find the listing?

The Che fantasy / flashbacks are so horrifically bad I quite like them. 😆

The actor that plays Anthony is 62, wow - the plastic surgeon was right though. I'm glad SJP did that scene and it lead to a more meaningful "and just like that" moment.

Carrie is one of the most annoying protagonists ever. She does not fail to make EVERYTHING about her. She’s a bit like fertile myrtle lol but instead of kids it’s back to her. The whole face lift scene was just stupid, if I was Anthony I’d be annoyed at how Carrie made it about her lol. I must say though Anthony is refreshing and the show does seem more like the old episodes.
One thing that did make me laugh was Charlotte saying ‘there’s nothing wrong with a bit of filler and Botox’ or something like that, which was quite clearly a dig at the things people have been saying about Kristin’s plastic surgery.
Also, why would you continue using the vibrator whilst talking to your child? Made me shudder tbh.

I enjoyed this episode as well. The less Che, the better. I don’t mind Seema, but I’m not really interested in Miranda’s professor at the minute. Bit bizarre for them to have a conversation about facelifts and fillers and to not have Charlotte say ‘yes, I’ve already had them all’ or for Carrie to ask Charlotte what it was like when she had them done.

Loving Anthony though. Is he really 62?!

I watched it on 1.5x speed as I don't want to waste more time than necessary but it made Miranda's me-time look like a seizure.

I'm glad Charlotte gave Miranda a bollocking about Che, although no one in the group wants to address how unforgiving Miranda was about Steve sleeping with someone else and how hypocritical she's being now. Cynthia Nixon's life Ctrl+C, Ctrl+P into Miranda Hobbes doesn't work.

"I bought an apartment. I no longer love it." "Then we'll sell it!" I'm glad it's that straightforward 😐

Anthony is some much needed comic relief, but he can't carry the series alone. They need to can it and forget about a second season.

Re watching season 6 and I can’t help but think that the way Carrie acts around Alexander petrovsky is so red flag, if a guy she was dating in the show acted the way she does, he would be one of those ridiculous blokes who gets dumped within one or two episodes (much like the piss politician or Justin “premature ejaculation” Theroux). The way she acts with Alexander is a new level of cray, she’s like a child- whinging about him being too romantic, making him skip the opera to get a McDonald’s, refusing to let him talk about his friend who died, getting pissed off when he’s working and doesn’t have time to meet her drunk friends.aside from the last 2 episodes in Paris I think he comes across like a mature, good guy who has no obvious weirdness and is even good with kids, generous, thoughtful etc. She comes across like a complete idiot. Think petrovsky dodged a bullet there.

Watchable - ish.

But yes, the terrible CGI and awful incidental music. The grit and personality of NYC has been eradicated. There’s just no meat on any of it despite the ishoos being tackled.

It’s just a lightweight whisper of a thing now.

I just watched all this too and feel the same. Her moving to Paris like that is just baffling. What did she think it was going to be like?

I don't knpow if anyoen watched SATC 2020 on youtube, but the guy is doing another parody of the new series, can't wait!

exactly, I didn't like him but she behaved like a child, why didn't she do something like enrol in a language course to meet people etc. Did she expect just wandering around a city alone for an indefinite amount of time owuld be endlessly fun?

It just said to me that Carrie was so intent on a man being central to her life that she would do that - give up her job, home, city, beloved friends…..to have nothing and no purpose but, at least a man? I couldn’t help but wonder….is that in fact the essence of Carrie?

I mean the whole thing fails the Bechdel test every 10 secs but …..all that women doing it for themselves salad dressing, horseshit.

This!! As if you can do all the museums in Paris “twice” in what about three weeks? Couldn’t she continue to do some freelance writing, go to an expat meet up or an exercise or french class or something?! He doesn’t even get pissed off with her for any of her crappy behaviours right up until they’re in Paris, and that’s extra annoying because she put up with so much aggro from Berger and yet Alexander is branded as some douchebag she needs to get away from. I’m not like his biggest fan or whatever lol I jsut can’t believe how she acts in that relationship. It’s like she’s lost the plot. Side note I love smith jerrod so much. What a sweet guy (and a babe)

yeah, giving up ALL of your independence for a man in a relatively new relationship was ridiculous, I would understand it more if she was really desperate to have children and wanted to settle down for that, but otherwise...

Even ignoring all the major, major problems...it's such a weird show. The episodes are so disjointed because there's not much of a storyline. The original SATC had arcs that ran for a long time, but it also had short plots that resolved themselves each episode, and AJLT is missing that.

I also just don't understand how they all woke up one day and decided they each needed a black friend - it would make a lot more sense if those friendships had developed in the unseen 15-year period. So for example, instead of Miranda randomly going back to college, Nya could have been a partner at her firm with 10 years of friendship under their belt already.

That would also make a lot more sense, because really, imagine your professor asking you out for coffee(!), trying to fleece you for money for their pet project(!!), then telling you about their struggles with infertility(!!!). I'd be asking the university for my money back, no way in hell would I let that woman mark my exams after all that!

Exactly, SATC episodes can be watched either as a series or as one offs, with each episode having a distinct topic it works both ways. AJLT somehow has neither, I am wondering how much they have had to cut from episodes because of the Cris Noth thing, maybe they have been cutting and adding in bits they didn't initially want to?
