Charlotte‘s daughters are both young Gen Z growing up in a liberal (I don’t say that derisively) New York City, attached to technology and now in the wake of COVID and BLM. The portrayal of these tweens/teens is pretty realistic, and the cultural and generational clashes, the controversies and confusion over gender norms and school and what to ignore and what to be attentive to… that’s a real thing and IMO it does make perfect sense as a storyline for a 2021 Sex and the City. Unfortunately viewers understandably see it as all one thing. If they had turned the dial down on the other storylines, I think the plot with Charlotte’s daughters could play decently well and realistically.

Agree - so far, I don't mind it, and I think Kristin Davis is doing a lovely job portraying the conflicting emotions Charlotte must be feeling at supporting her own daughter's individuality and yet feeling that things are changing very fast (and is this the right path, etc).

Also, are we meant to hate Che? I think they play way too big of a role in this series already and I'm sick of them. Che is the type of person who just dominates every conversation and sucks the air out of every room they're in thinking they're gracing us with their presence. Why have Miranda make 2 new friends if the professor ends up getting sidelined (see she's featured so little that I don't even know her name)?

That scene with the professor was so random, I mean really who gives a flying duck about this character? What is the point of her? I literally don't know her name, or her husbands and as for her friends, forget it;. They shouldn't be in scenes without the OG cast because we all care so little!

I agree. I loved Dr Robert and couldn’t stand Steve in SATC, but Dr Robert was far too good for Miranda if we’re going by AJLT (but so is Steve now). Out of all the men, my favourites were Smith and Harry. Big was always a narcissistic prick and Steve reminded me of an ex boyfriend and I sometimes couldn’t bear to look at the screen 🤢

The whole show is just full of one dimensional pointless snippets of stories that have no beginning or end; the new apartment/Harry’s colonoscopy/Lilly being a piano prodigy/Steve/the entire professor and her husband and friends….
There’s no cohesion at all and there’s no structure or beginning/middle/end to each episode- it’s all a bit of a mess.

smith!!!!! god, i loved him - he was so chill and so supportive of samantha (when he shaved his head when she was having chemo 🥺). he was also hot af, even though i don’t usually like blonds.

i know samantha was ultimately never going to settle down but i was so sad when they broke them up.
