Ah I don't know. I think a lot of you are massively not getting it, whilst sounding pretty preachy/Karen-ey

I've really enjoyed the new series so far. As a little gay kid growing up in the 90's/00's - I was fascinated with this program, along with millions of others. Loved the first movie, the second was a bit cringe - but like all franchises, it has its moments.
I was nervous when I heard about the new series, especially taking into account the fact Samantha wasn't going to be a part of it.
However, I'm pleasantly surprised. It's tackled a load of current issues whilst keeping some humour. Death, alcoholism, struggles with sexual/gender identity, the fact we all have to be soooo overly cautious about how we address people - based on their skin colour, sexuality, gender pronouns - these are all really real and current issues so many face today.

I haven't read this whole thread however, I'm pretty disappointed at a good few posts around Miranda. To be honest? You all need to get a grip and try to look beyond your own mundane outlook on the world.
Growing up within the community over the last 20+ years - I have friends, family members even - that have similiar stories to Miranda. Some that have never even so much as thought about a member of the same sex in a sexual way until they were in their 40's, 50's, 60's. One of my best friends was married to a man for 15 years, met a woman in The George with me 5 year ago and is now happily married to her.
...and saying "Ew, Che - why? Why would Miranda choose Che? We might have to see her nude" - jaysus, bleeping listen to yourselves. I can guarantee I wouldn't want to see any of your saggy tits either - however, usually I'd have more tact.

Moral of the story? Don't be a judgey prick. Take your rose coloured glasses off and get off your Karen perch and realise that everyone in the world is different. Not every person deals with or reacts to situations the way you would - and that's OK.
I know this is a website for debates and what not but fuccccck - thank christ I don't have to deal with some of you in real life!
This lesbian thinks you're a bit of a twit, but I'm sure you feel much better for getting that load of self-important bollocks off your chest. Now bore off and update your Twitter pronouns or something.

AIBU to think that not wanting to see someone wank in public makes me a Karen?

To answer the poster above though re choosing Che (Che?!) hmmmm…. I wonder if there’s going to be fallout from this if Che possibly feels used by Miranda.

I’ve seen a good friend of mine who’s been out for 25 of her 40 years “experimented” with by the sexually unsure or bored and… it’s tit. Let’s see if this happens here.

Regardless of which class the drug is, she shouldn’t have been smoking weed, drinking and having sex in her sick friends kitchen.

Just because she was not hooked up to a ventilator or on her death bed, doesn’t mean she did not need help and care.
Her kitchen isn't even in a separate room! It was the location of the sex and the peeing that grossed me out rather than the sex itself. Imagine waking up from a nap to find your boss fingering your married best friend in the kitchen area of your studio apartment and then you wet the bed because said friend isn't available to help you to the bathroom. I'd be pretty traumatised!

I couldn't help but wonder (😉) whether this was payback to Carrie for sending Aiden over to pick a naked Miranda off her bathroom floor

I don’t know why Miranda got so angry about that, she knew Carrie was busy that day, also what much could Carrie do? Carrie is like 5 foot and 6 stone! Aidan is tall and well built he was clearly the better choice to help Miranda.

Tbh I think Miranda will have an affair, leave Steve for her and Che will pull the “I’m polyamorous and I’m not looking for anything long term” card , so it will leave Miranda uprooting her life for something not permanent

Possible unpopular opinion here ... but I actually thought this was better than the other episodes. (Still bad but better). I have always found Miranda sex scenes cringy to watch so wasn't fazed by the kitchen thing. I thought when Miranda was apologising she was seeing herself through Carries eyes and probably felt utterly embarassed and on the brink of a breakdown.. I hope they don't just have her 'over' her alcohol thing now though so easily. Carrie looked like her old self at the end and the texts from SJ were exactly what I can imagine she would say... I just doubt she would reply that quickly lol. I love Harry and Anthony and always have. x

I do agree with some aspects of this. I actually thought the acting from Cynthia Nixon when she was speaking with Carrie in the aftermath was really very good and I actually thought that SJP was brilliant too. I put myself in her shoes and I would be so angry and confused and sad for my friend. I did like Carrie in this episode.

Che's a rotten apple and it has nothing to do with her appearance...

I think you’re not understanding and sounding rather judgy.
It’s not the individual “issues” that are being raised it’s the writing, character development the execution of it all. It’s all a bit too much thrown together at once and clunky, no finesse no nothing.

The issue isn’t the sex scene lol 😂 it’s literally called Sex and the City, I’m sure nobody on this thread is a prude if we’re here talking about it. It’s just that for me, the scene is strangely explicit in a way the original show wasn’t, if that makes sense so it’s just weird to watch
imagine this scene and the big wank scene back to back.... *shudder*

hmmm...not sure about this episode. its getting slightly better dare i say.

i think i would have preferred more of Harry and Charlotte dealing with Rose. It might have been better if Rose was a happy tomboy, the boys she hangs out with call her "Rock", school/other mums are asking questions about her labels and identity.
Rose has a heart to heart with Charlotte about not knowing if she likes boys or girls, or if she feels like a boy or a girl. Charlotte tells her theres no rush, she has all the time in the world to figure it out, she can dress how she likes and kiss who she likes, all they care about it that she is happy. they will always love her etc ect.

It all would seem much more realistic considering her age.

I also think its being set up so they will all be single in the end. Harry will die because he missed his colonoscopy, Miranda will leave Steve and Carrie will be dating but single.
