very. nice to see it from the parents point of view for once. if someone was telling me about my child like that i'd be murderous

I hope they continue to show it from Charlotte and Harry's point of view and don't do a 180 and change them into fully accepting and seeing surgeons etc. The bewilderment seemed pretty authentic to me and based on the rest of the show I was surprised, unless they are gearing up for a division between Harry and Charlotte and paint Harry as a bigot rather than a normal reaction as a parent.

I also hope people realise that this is happening in schools.

I thought it was ok and I thought the kitchen scene was hot. Obviously I'm bonkers or something 🙄

i actually thought the same! (without the carrie involvement obviously) 🤦🏼‍♀️

i thought the charlotte and harry scenes were the best things this show has done so far. they came across as believable and i hope they keep showing this storyline from the parents’ pov - it’s not a viewpoint we see much in media atm.

I totally agree – I'm pretty feminine now, but I was definitely a tomboy as a kid in the 90s and it was fine. It's quite scary to think what might happen to me if I was young and confused about my sexuality now.

This!! I was such a tomboy in the 90s too! Preferred hanging out with boys, loved football, preferred tracksuits to dresses. Was into Transformers and He-man in the 80s, didn't once question my sexuality. Now I dread to think what I would be thinking if I was that age and into that stuff.

Ok I’m gonna try and keep my personal opinion out of gender neutral/ they/them pronouns stance the world hasand look at this episode (episode 5) objectively.

-I think Charlotte and Harry challenging the school, and potentially the world, about rocky is a good POV & their points are valid. We live in a world that’s so complex now with different labels and can be confusing so I think it’s great they want to stripe it back to basics I.e tomboy.

-this show has done Miranda dirty!! Her going back to college and being a bumbling idiot is painful to watch but they’ve done her dirty because I’m rewarching the shower and she was the most self aware of out the group I,e the time she got addicted to the show jewels and memi, ate cake of the bin etc. so her not knocking an alcoholic problem and blaming how boring her life doesn’t sit right with me. BUT having sex with someone like Che does. Che isn’t a stereotypical female, so remove the female body parts and/“they” pronouns from it but Che challenges/mentally stimulates Miranda as everyone in life (apart from the girls) is either cruising with her (Steve “what you shay?) or doesn’t need her anymore (Brady). So I think having sex with Che is an unexpected wake up call. Miranda is lost because she’s a 50 year old something with a new career path, mother to a teenager, boring husband (I love Steve- he challenged her/stimulated her in the original show but now, he’s dead weight). She’s not old, but she’s not young either- she’s limbo so what’s her role in society? I think this will give her the drive she needs to get back to her old self.

-Carrie- Meh. The original tv shownCarrie would’ve done a Miranda and had sex in the kitchen, shots etc so pot kettle black.

i hope this makes sense and definitely don’t want to offend anyone xx

I can’t see Che wanting any sort of relationship with Miranda. Wonder where it will go from there.
Yeah the way Che said so casually ‘DM me if u wanna hang out again’ made me think they aren’t going to want anything serious and Miranda will be obsessed 🤣 also is this ‘DM me’ thing supposed to be all new agey too? Like people don’t exchange numbers? Che is in their 40’s.. I’m 30 next year and I wouldn’t talk like that 😂

My problem with this reboot is everything is an "issoooo" so we end up with "nonbinary trans self indentifying whatever" instead of a podcast host that is a multilayered person with their own job worries, friends, families fitting into an established friendship group. The characters in the show are now a series of box ticks on a diversity form rather than people first that are slowly revealed to us, the viewer. Also the bleeping hats, Christ on a pushbike. I hope Kim Cattrall is laughing her well toned arse

and with only10episodes there really isnt enough time to develop them
I can’t see Che wanting any sort of relationship with Miranda. Wonder where it will go from there.
i think Miranda will end up becoming sort of ibsessed with them and che will just lose interest. i can already imagine how cringe it will be 😂

If the PT's in my area looked like that, I would throw myself down the stairs immediately.
🔥😘

I used to buy boy's clothes (I hated pastel colours and boy's clothes were a bit "edgier") and used to get into a lot of fights (with boys) at school. 100% happy with being a female though. Thank God I wasn't badged as having gender dysmorphia or some such rubbish. Like a PP said, there are lots of different ways to be a boy or a girl.
