Rise and Fall

Just caught up with last night’s episode. Really enjoyed it. It’s funny how all the grafters made a pact to stick together but the moment they get up into the penthouse, they all turn on eachother 😂.

I hate that new grafter they’ve introduced. Such a self-entitled prick. He’s been in there for 24 hours yet couldn’t understand why he wasn’t being rewarded a curry, when the others have been in the basement for weeks on nothing more than basic rations.

I really hope James goes. Sadly, one of the biggest flaws in this show, is that despite how it should be about whoever occupies the best leadership qualities wins, it’s a popularity contest. People are voted out based on the alliances forged within the penthouse. As much as I want James to leave, realistically either Jack or Connor should’ve left last night due to their poor leadership skills. Connor gives up when faced with criticism and occupies an inability to move on. Jack strong-armed the group into choosing cockroaches as an appropriate creature for the grafters to clean up which ultimately deducted money from the prize fund, yet didn’t seem happy to be held accountable for his mistake. As much as Geoff may be an annoyance to the group (he’s brilliant TV though so I hope he stays and goes onto win), he’s got business acumen and lied experience and was the only one at the ruler’s table, talking sense when Jack recklessly strong-armed the group into choosing the grafters to pick up cockroaches. They’ve been looking for an excuse to vote Geoff out ever since he set foot into the penthouse simply because they don’t like him, and the stupid old fool gave them a reason to vote him out last night.

Really disappointed that Geoff couldn’t keep his trap shut during deliberations at the ruler’s table. Admittedly, his reasoning for voting James was unjustified. I feel he’s sacrificed his place in the game for the sake of a stupid alliance with Moses, whose as thick as two short planks, who also won’t be in the game for much longer. Ironically, Geoff earned his place in the penthouse on the pretence that he doesn’t do alliances. Personally, I think Moses will cave and Geoff will be gone in tonight’s episode. Their reasons for voting James were purely tactical and quite shallow and I can’t imagine Rossi will back down on his decision to vote Geoff off.

Connor made a huge mistake last night. Most of the group openly said they were voting for Geoff at the table, which would’ve been a perfect opportunity for Connor to vote Geoff out to preserve the alliances he’s already forged with James and Jack. He would’ve been safe from the next elimination as well, considering the group will undoubtedly end up voting Moses out. That being said, I really don’t care if Connor ends up leaving as his exit is well overdue in my opinion.

Another person who really annoyed me last night was Sophie. I’ve just began to realise how two-faced she is when all the grafters are sat down watching the deliberations at the ruler’s table unfold. She’s formed an alliance with Geoff and Moses but is sat slagging then off to her fellow grafters when watching them vote James out. I also hope the curry she received for her dinner was from Tesco, considering she tweeted on Christmas Day that Tesco’s own brand Korma is the only curry she can stand to eat.

I hope to God, that Jack’s girlfriend doesn’t make it up to the penthouse because they’ll be utterly insufferable.

Laughing at her tweet coming back to haunt her. 🤣

I still can't make up my mind about this show, I'm enjoying it but not if that makes sense? There's something just not clicking with the format, compared to Traitors where it was amazing from 1st episode.
On the other hand, apart from Paddy McGuiness and the week apart episodes (pointless and the modern death of any series nowadays) I am enjoying Tempting Fortune but it will have no longevity after 1 series. I found it only last week.

He’s got duck all to say after his duck up with the cockroaches!

He's got guilt written all over his face, but the others haven't picked up on it... yet. He knows fine well he fucked up but he's trying to act all nonchalant in the hope the rest of them don't pick up on it & give him the treatment that he's (jack) given to the others if they put a foot wrong.

Tonight’s episode was SO good. I love it when the producers don’t go easy on the contestants.

I’m so glad James has fucked off even if it meant we had to lose Geoff in the process. I take back what I said. Moses is the most decisive person up there, therefore is the most competent leader amongst the current rulers.

Jack and Sydney’s stupid non-relationship has destroyed the show and potentially the entire prize fund they’ve accumulated throughout the series. They aren’t even exclusive, so why is Jack so determined to potentially sacrifice all the money they’ve built up so far for someone whose no better than a spooning partner? She should’ve let Sophie and Ramona come up tonight and then should’ve thrown her hat in the ring for the next round of voting. What did Sydney vow to the bring to the table when asked why she would be a suitable candidate to be chosen to become a ruler? All I heard was her threatening to leave the competition if she doesn’t get selected as a ruler. Due to this, Jack’s hellbent on getting her up to the penthouse even though he’ll inevitably have to turn on her at some point down the line in order to ensure he wins himself.

Rossi is potentially the worst leader among them and that’s quite a title considering he’s sharing the ruler’s table with Connor and Jack. He’s got very little to gain by abetting a dwindling prize fund for the sake of preserving an alliance with Sydney and Jack which will inevitably dissolve anyway, due to how all the group dynamics change, the moment people enter the penthouse. He has a chance to be viewed as a hero by the grafters if he reverts his decision and chooses Sophie to ascend to the penthouse which means he can form alliances with grafters who ascend to the penthouse in the future.

I really don’t understand why they’ve added two new people into the mix when the show is nearing its final week. They’re both completely irrelevant and in their own bubble and haven’t got a cat’s chance in hell of winning.

Overall, tonight’s episode has proven Jack and Sydney’s alliance is dangerous, considering it’s now impacting on the prize fund, therefore the grafters ought to be hoping and praying that Sydney doesn’t make it to the penthouse as then that doubles the chances of Jack winning the competition, despite how he’s proven himself to be incredibly incompetent as a ruler.

I’m new to this tread, hiya 👋🏽

I can’t believe they let the prize fund run down like that! Do you think they will let it go to zero? I wonder what will happen if it goes to zero, maybe they will say both will be eliminated from the game?! Interesting end to the episode! It needed that because it was getting boring!

In my opinion, Connor will end up folding and we’ll have to suffer through Jack and Sydney’s vomit-inducing, fornicating antics.

Ultimately he is very indecisive and probably realises that his chances of winning are severely compromised regardless of who comes up to the penthouse. Therefore, I think he’ll reverse his decision to spare the prize fund money from dwindling any further so there is still a cash sum for the winner (whoever that may be) to claim.

Also, if Connor does choose to vote for Sydney to become a ruler it’s an opportunity for him to land up in Jack’s good books. This could push Jack to spare Connor for an extra day or so and vote for Moses to be eliminated, especially since he’s said himself he views Moses as his biggest threat in the penthouse.

Jack's face is just in constant smug mode.
I'd love it to go to 0 🤣

I’d love it to go to zero and then the grafters are given an opportunity to all go and storm the penthouse, in a bid to confront the rulers 😆

Maybe they should be given an opportunity to overthrow the rulers as well.

Oh I'd laugh if these silly boys let their egos run the prize fund down to zero.

OT: Tempting Fortune is bloody brilliant

Still OT: I'm kinda mad at ch4 for scrapping The Circle as they wanted to make a different kind of programme, then running Rise and Fall and Tempting Fortune at the same time. #JusticeForOrangeTally
