Peaky Blinders - season 6

Maybe it wasn’t intentional symbolism but that’s what I took from it anyway. He entered on a black horse at the start of the episode and went out on a white one. Think we’ll see a “born again” Tommy in the movie. We just need Arthur to sort his tit out…by order of the Peaky bleeping Blinders 🤣

Defiantly full of symbolism. The irony of the IRA dying at the hands of British army weapons too.

I still hope they don’t make this film though.

Yeah all through this series I didn’t want a film either but the last episode has kind of given me an appetite for it. Tommy is definitely back, like he said himself, nobody can kill Tommy except Tommy, he’s fired up again and I want to see what he does next.

I'll revoke what I said about the series being complete tit.
Most of it was but the final episode was something special, I could not take my eyes off the screen, brilliantly done!

Ada has never had a huge part in it apart from Series One. She was never in it as much as Polly. Same with Lizzie, she's never had a huge part. The biggest female part was Polly.

I like Stephen Graham but he is starting to act exactly the same in most things! I was disappointed with his part in this series but he's probably a huge fan so just jumped at the chance to be in it.

We’ve been saying that at home! Felt like someone else had taken care of the music this series

I think it was Radiohead’s Thom Yorke who did some of the music. I quite liked it though I felt it really suited the locations and emotions of the characters.

Contrary to popular opinion I absolutely loved this series. I'd got a bit bored of the gangster doing deals stuff. I felt the series evolved in a dark, yet clever way. Originally Tommy was bad for family gain and by the end it was for the wider good...even at the expense of his marriage. I thought Paul was absolutely superb as Arthur and loved the Alfie scene at the end. It was a fantastic finale and I dont think a film is needed. Cillian was beautifully shot with some amazing lighting that showed his eyes.
I 100% agree with this and everything was perfectly set up, right to the end! I loved it! Such a fantastic series that’s been consistent since it started. I’ll watch the film, but for me, it’s not necessary. It ended in such a satisfactory way I’d rather there be no film, in case it spoils the way he rode off on his white horse.

I think the director (who also did the previous series) had a had in some of the music selections in an article I read. I know he shot some music videos for a few of the artists or something. Either way the music has been crap.
I think on of the most iconic music moments in the show was the final episode of series 2.

Is it me or does it feel like the cast weren’t really into this final series? I’ve only seen the actor who plays Michael make a post about the final episode yesterday and usually there are quite a few interviews and TV interviews that come out around the time of the new series but I’ve only seen the one the ladies did for You magazine. Plus Cillian and Paul didn’t show up for the premiere of the final series. I guess part of it could be attributed to Helen’s death but I don’t know, for a final series it just feelsa rather flat way to go.

I don’t think Cillian has ever turned up to a premier, has he? I may be wrong but I don’t think he’s ever been there. I don’t think he ever seems comfortable at anything like that! Not sure I’ve seen Paul Anderson attend one either tbh!

They’ve both turned up a few times. But since they are the main and second main characters you think they’d turn up to every premiere?

He started filming Nolan’s Oppenheimer in Feb so I imagine he couldn’t escape for it. Poor planning from the Beeb/“post-Covid” job load at play potentially.

Just caught up on the final episode, didn’t realise there were only six episodes, it seemed short.
Was a bit disappointed but the plot twist with the doctor at the end made it.
How did Tommy find out about Billy? Was there something in the pub scene that I missed?

The final episode was really good to be fair. I do feel series 6 was all style and not much substance though.
But a great episode to end on.
I really enjoyed lizzies character and thought she acted it brilliantly all the way through.
Before the final episode I wouldn't have been interested in watching the film, as i was getting bored of it,but now I would go and watch it.

I remember watching the first episode, and seeing how big it became has been crazy! I think Cillian, Paul and Helen have done amazing things with their characters and even if I felt the script let them down at times, they proved themselves as world class actors for sure and ensured their characters will be iconic for years to come.
Absolutely brilliant acting. Rest in peace Helen

I really just want to add to everyone's praise of the final episode but I wondered if anyone else felt a little sad like I did that we never got a Tommy Shelby moment with Red right hand playing at full blast particularly at the end ... I sort of can't get over it , like how could they not 😭

Yes I think this too! It would almost flood all the power etc back to him?

It didn’t bother me and I enjoyed the song that played at the end.
