Peaky Blinders - season 6

We’ve been saying that at home! Felt like someone else had taken care of the music this series
I think the director (who also did the previous series) had a had in some of the music selections in an article I read. I know he shot some music videos for a few of the artists or something. Either way the music has been crap.
I think on of the most iconic music moments in the show was the final episode of series 2.

Is it me or does it feel like the cast weren’t really into this final series? I’ve only seen the actor who plays Michael make a post about the final episode yesterday and usually there are quite a few interviews and TV interviews that come out around the time of the new series but I’ve only seen the one the ladies did for You magazine. Plus Cillian and Paul didn’t show up for the premiere of the final series. I guess part of it could be attributed to Helen’s death but I don’t know, for a final series it just feelsa rather flat way to go.

Ifs true though! Like, Ada was only in for the whole of 2 mins. Lizzie got what, maybe 5 mins?
Compared to previous series where the female characters have been shown to be strong, competent and pivotal it's as if they've been an afterthought this time.
Ada hasn't really served any purpose, Linda has been so underused too. Lizzie got the most screen time but only due to Tommy.

I think if they weren't planning the film (they knew it was coming before writing this series) then this series would've been better. A lot has been left hanging so they can maybe pick it up in the film - or not. I thought last night's episode did massively help this series, but it felt like a lot of stuff was left out. I'm guessing it was due to time - but why not just make the series 8 episodes?

I guess they had to re write a lot of it to write Polly out in a respectful way aswell. So much has been left open for the film though I hope it doesn’t disappoint

Yes the writer has said he had already written the series when Helen died and so he had to rewrite it all. On top of that they had covid to put up with so I imagine had to make a few changes due to that as well and maybe a few of them had covid and couldn't film for a bit?

Loved the twist!!! I audibly gasped when I saw the photo and worked out who it was. That was bloody brilliant.
Also glad the
IRA wench
got their comeuppance! The bit when Jeremiah came out in the mustard fog with his gas mask on which such a cool shot!
Not sure how they worked out that Billy Grande was the snitch?
I wish they had shown Charlie say about having 2 chambers clear when giving Finn the gun and the conversation Arthur had with Duke about if Finn didn’t shoot Billy then he’s out the family - that felt a bit random. Why didn’t Finn shoot Billy?
I also wish they had more Ada and more Linda and Arthur. Felt so random her being at the family lunch but no Arthur?
What do we think the burning wagon was meant to symbolise at the end?
Loved the bit when Tommy was telling Alfie he was dying and Alfie asked if it was the clap and Tommy said ‘no, not even that noble’. There was a lack of humour this series which is a shame.
I wonder what Tommy whispered to Duke at the lunch. Charles looked over and looked quite jealous - wonder if there was trouble brewing there.
When Tommy started speaking Romani and said about people knowing the truth was it because at that point they knew (apart from Finn) that Billy was the spy? Is that also what Duke meant when he said that he also knew the truth?

Jeremiah? That’s Benjamin Zephaniah, he’s a poet. I don’t think he’s in a band?

Me too, he was advertised quite heavily but he had no real impact. A bit random!

He wasn’t in this series was he? Such a shame because that feels like a loose end for me. I think it’s meant to be Billy who told them where they were camping?

Who was it in the photo???

Loved the final episode but so many unanswered questions!

What was the deal with Finn? That scene between him and Duke seemed a bit out of the blue. Did I miss something?

And how did Tommy know about the bomb? Not complaining because that sequence was edge of the seat stuff but I'd love to know how he found out.

Also delighted to see my lovely Johnny Dogs get one last bit of screen time!

It was a satisfying ending imo but agree that it was time for the show to end. If the movie does get made I highly doubt any of the main characters will be in it. I'll probably give it a miss.
I think that ever since Polly’s death, Tommy knew Michael intended to kill him. He prob had Alfie and Jonny with him to check out the lie of the land. Alfie must have overheard the talk around the bomb, met Jonny outside and told him. Jonny switched the bomb to the other car and left the noose sign (which Tommy rubbed off) to confirm what had been done, and that death was coming to the others and a sign to confirm Michael’s intention.

Contrary to popular opinion I absolutely loved this series. I'd got a bit bored of the gangster doing deals stuff. I felt the series evolved in a dark, yet clever way. Originally Tommy was bad for family gain and by the end it was for the wider good...even at the expense of his marriage. I thought Paul was absolutely superb as Arthur and loved the Alfie scene at the end. It was a fantastic finale and I dont think a film is needed. Cillian was beautifully shot with some amazing lighting that showed his eyes.

Not sure I fully understand why the IRA and the facists wanted him dead. Because they knew he was using everyone?

There's a one hour Cillian special on BBC Sounds where he talks through some of the music (not just the finale) which I'd recommend, and also a 2 part documentary on the iPlayer about the real Peaker Blinders which is dead interesting.

Didn’t enjoy this series at all but thought the ending was very well done. The symbolism of the photos of Grace, John, Polly, Ruby burning, all the ghosts that have been holding Tommy back are gone. Also the shot of the flames on either side and Tommy in the middle on his white horse 👏
Definitely paves the way for a movie with Tommy back to his best.

This has just made me super excited for the movie haha! Can't wait to see Tommy back to his best.
