Overrated TV shows

What grinds me with tv is series that run out of good material and carry on. They end up with ridiculous storylines that are not believable. This used to be an American thing but it happens here more and more often.
Soaps are another thing. When I was young they were on once or twice a week. Now with such packed schedules they regurgitate storylines and go for over the top stunts. A small Yorkshire village has been hit by a plane and a helicopter?? A sleepy street in suburban Manchester has had how many murders?
Scripted reality I just don’t get. Either have a reality show or a drama. Just cheap trash tv.

Howard's Way - ruined Sundays for people in the 1980s

I stayed with relatives in Surrey in 1986 and they told me they were watching a wonderful programme every Sunday on TV. It was Howard's Way and I could not stand it but had to watch it every week while I was there🙁

Mrs Brown's Boys is just tit. I think there must be some subliminal messaging coming from it that no one under 50 gets, I know a fair few over 50s who watch it without fail and say they find it hilarious but when you ask why it's funny, or what's funny about it, they have no idea 🤣

I don't get Killing Eve at all, or This Country.

I wasn't at all sure about Schitts Creek, watched the first 2-3 episodes a couple of times over the years then a few months ago tried it again and something clicked and before I knew it I was hooked, watched all the series and cried over the last episode!

I’m over 50 and I watched about 10 minutes of Mrs Brown’s Boys once and I abhor it. Awful, awful programme, so please don’t imply that we over 50’s are all fans.

Before lockdown I would have said anything with Ricky Gervais in as I really didn’t like him, don’t know why 🤷‍♀️ anyway my boys got me to watch Afterlife and I loved it, then Derek, I thought that was really good. I now “get” RG but I don’t fancy watching the Office.
