Overrated TV shows

There is definitely a gap between the British and American humour. I was talking to an American girl about someone who couldn't find a set of office notes that were right in front of his eyes and I said to her " does he need a white stick" she had no idea what I was on about, when I change it to "is he blind" she got it? Subtlety, sarcasm and Irony are lost on them, the joke has to be REALLY obvious.
Yeh you can see this if you compare the first American versions of The office which copied the British one almost totally

Hollyoaks, Corrie, Emmerdale.
I don't mind Eastenders but I don't regularly watch it

Only fools and horses.
MY GOD, don't get me wrong. It's good but I've seen every episode so many times now (not out of choice) and it just grinds on me.

Skins - I recognise the cultural impact it had but it’s so ridiculous
Anything from Disney-run Marvel Cinematic Universe - Way too vanilla and formulaic
Disney - I liked all the old films but the chokehold they have on the film industry breaks the cutesy immersion for me
Friends - tit. Ross is gross. “Joey doesn’t share food” isn’t funny lol I think I would shart myself if some dude yelled this at me
Black Mirror - I think bar a few episodes, the technology “what ifs” are pretty basic and not that well thought out. I get that not everything has to be clever, but it gets praise for being clever, from people whom I suspect share its anxiety that specific things it depicts will become a reality (basically they think their idea is clever and like seeing it being presented as clever in a clever tv programme)

Absolutely Fabulous
Outnumbered
How I Met Your Mother
The Big Bang Theory - I feel like Amy and Bernadette ruined it slightly when they became main characters
Black Mirror
The Great British Bake Off

And I do like Friends but most of the "famous" jokes aren't that funny to me, such as "Pivot!" and "Joey Doesn't Share Food"

Breaking bad - I got into late started watching it long after everyone else. I think because it was so hyped up I then had high expectations that weren't met. Everyone was making such a big fuss that in the end I was expecting something mich better. I managed about four episodes.
Making of a murderer - to slow. It didn't move fast enough for me

Downton abbey - again over hyped so was expecting greater things

With Breaking Bad, it's really a show like no other. You have to give it more than four episodes though. Once Walt gets into the nitty gritty of things and becoming the drug dealer he is, it's really really good.
I do think you have to give most things more than 4 episodes though!

The Real Housewives of ... time to put them to bed, I think. A lot of them are pretending in some way - to be in love with their partner, to have money ... and it's just the same old storylines (fights/friction) recycled in each franchise.

Anything with canned laughter - it drives me mad!
