I've been watching lots of Cary Grant films recently. Imo no one has ever been as successful at pulling off sexy and hilarious simultaneously.

Love so many old movies and musicals. They don’t make them like they used to.

Calamity Jane
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
South Pacific
Guys and Dolls
Meet me in St.Louis
Wizard of Oz
Gone With the Wind
Singin’ in the Rain
Hitchcock movies (Rear Window, The Birds, Psycho etc).
Angels With Dirty Faces (love James Cagney).
Carousel
Sound of Music

That’s all I can think of, off the top of my head. There’s many more.
Rear Window is brilliant.

Love classic movies. So many of my favourites have already been mentioned. Hands down my favourite Christmas movie is White Christmas.

Oh, also, Check with your local libraries, because through mine I get free access to Kanopy, which has lots of great classic movies. Hoopla is another similar service, and here in Australia we also have Beamafilm. I found them after being disappointed with the Netflix offerings!

Lovely thread. I love so many old films. They just make me feel happy and secure and I love the sets and clothes.
I watched James Stewart in Harvey again recently. He always reminds me of my dad. And I love this line:
'My mother always said to me "Elwood in this life you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant". Well I tried oh so smart for years. I recommend oh so pleasant'.

High Society is my absolute favorite musical. Bing Crosby ,Frank Sinatra and Grace Kelly were just fantastic in it.

I love High Society. I think it gets a little overlooked, but it's such a beautiful film and I love the elegance of the era.

I always watch old movies around Xmas. Gone with the Wind is controversial nowadays, but I still love it. I love watching Casablanca with a few cocktails. On Boxing Day, it's always Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Oliver or The Producers. It's weird that when you watch the same movies over and over, you associate them with certain times and emotions.

Watching the greatest show on earth takes me back to being a little girl with my nanna and grampy hot tea and toast having cuddle house smelling of baking just pure love and warmth.i cry as I miss it so but I smile as it makes me think of them.o the memories it incites and emotions

Oliver! Makes me think of my mum i love it and can guarantee she will watch it a few times a year at least and I cant help but watch it too.she has serious mental health issues and is registered disabled,it used to be a film that could pick her up and id see a smile

I love an old musical.

I'll watch any of them but I love 'My Fair Lady', 'Oliver', 'Fiddler On The Roof', 'The King and I','Calamity Jane' etc etc All the biggies. My mum had a bit of thing for Howard Keel.

One film I can't stand though is 'The Wizard of Oz' and my least favourite song ever is 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow'. I hate that song with a passion. Dreary and boring as far as I'm concerned. I know that makes me some sort of heathen but I can't help myself. 🤪
