I just saw that Christopher Plummer has died at 91. So sad. Growing up, I loved The Sound of Music. I think he was my first fancy šŸ„° (alongside cartoon Aladdin). Lol.
It got me thinking about old movies and musicals. What were some of your favourites? Also, can we protect Julie Andrews at all costs? It will be a very sad day when she dies.

Singinā€™ in the Rain is one of my all time faves šŸ˜
I used to tap Dance to this

Calamity Jane. Doris Day is a Don.

Bugsy Malone is my absolute favourite though. 10 year olds playing gangsters - genius šŸ˜‚
Calam.. is my fave! Doris Is beautiful xx

The sound of music is my fave.. Maria was my idol., even inspired my bridal look on her.. wanted to be a nun .. Mary poppins a close second ., practically perfect in every way .. god bless the captain x

I love a lot of old movies and Iā€™ve been making an effort to watch more of them (ones I havenā€™t seen) recently.

Not a musical, and admittedly very melodramatic, but my favourite is Brief Encounter.

As for musicals, The Sound Of Music probably does top it. Christopher Plummer will be missed.

I too love The Sound of Music. Other classics I love not yet mentioned include Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Rebecca (Hitchcock version), The Wizard of Oz, Born Yesterday (Judy Holliday version), A Streetcar Named Desire, Mary Poppins, Cleopatra, I Married A Witch...

I am really passionate about classic films. I could talk about them all day.

Love so many old movies and musicals. They donā€™t make them like they used to.

Calamity Jane
Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
South Pacific
Guys and Dolls
Meet me in St.Louis
Wizard of Oz
Gone With the Wind
Singinā€™ in the Rain
Hitchcock movies (Rear Window, The Birds, Psycho etc).
Angels With Dirty Faces (love James Cagney).
Carousel
Sound of Music

Thatā€™s all I can think of, off the top of my head. Thereā€™s many more.

Donald oā€™Connor is great and such an understated actor/dancer.
So many great videos of his dancing on YouTube.
I find him so strangely attractive too.

Singinā€™ in the rain
The wizard of oz
Oliver
Bugsy malone
Annie
High society
Hello dolly

It's a Wonderful Life is my favourite film, I'll watch it anytime of year not just at Christmas. I love James Stewart, he was gorgeous and so adorable in Vivacious Lady with Ginger Rogers ā¤
This us my favourite film of all time. The story is so good. James Stewart was just brilliant, i couldn't see anyone else in that role. And to think it wasn't a hit when it first came out!
