No Time To Die

Is it any good? I usually love Bond movies but from reviews he seems pretty woke in this one, not the Bond we've fallen in love with over the decades. Anywhere good to watch this and other movies online to avoid packed cinemas? I think it might be worth watching just for Ana De Armas

I personally really enjoyed the film! Defo worth the watch. Maybe after lockdown and no movies it swayed me to love it more. But defo a good movie! Wasn’t how I wanted it to end but is what it is

I saw it in the Imax screen room and I went at 1.30 in the afternoon.
There weren't too many people in the cinema. So it was great.

I enjoyed the film.
The locations looked stunning.
The hints of humour were just enough.

I hate the ending but overall it was an impressive production and I enjoyed it.

When Daniel Craig was announced as Bond I thought they were crazy to cast him.
I thought they'd have gone with Jason Isaacs or Mark Strong, but I now think Daniel Craig has become the best of the Bonds. He kept him strong whilst giving him emotional depth.
I shall miss him as Bond.

I think now they will cast a guy in his mid to late 30s and take us back in time and re-do some of the stories already filmed with slight tweaks to the scripts.
Probably some of the Roger Moore ones and I think that will mean we'll get new people playing M, Moneypenny and Q.

I really enjoyed it, I'm unsure on the ending. I think how the next film goes I will decide on how I feel about it.
I think theres going to be a change of direction for the next ones.
We went to watch it at 7.20 on Monday and it was quiet, even the smaller cinemas are having about 12 showings a day so I don't think it will be too busy.
I think it's worth a trip out to watch it.

I really enjoyed it but I wasn't expecting the ending at all and I don't really know where that leaves the Bond franchise either. There can't be any continuity now between this film and the next unless they go with 007 rather than Bond, which...isn't really the same. So I liked it, but I don't really get it either!

I really enjoyed, my other half (who’s more of a Bond fan than me) felt the characters and their motivations were weak which took away from his enjoyment, whereas it didn’t matter to me. I don’t think that’s spoilery however please don’t read the below if you haven’t seen the film yet…
I am shocked no one has spoilt the ending yet, I’m deliberately avoiding saying anything about it to anyone because I don’t want to ruin it 😂 I don’t even want to say “make sure you see it ASAP” in case people guess why they might want to do that. I’m really intrigued where they go next with the films or whether they rest them (although money making machine so maybe not), because while I know continuity isn’t a huge concern for them, you can’t have the same time period/M/Moneypenny surely?

Exactly what I thought! When they've replaced the actor of Bond before they've never killed him off, so how can they say there's a next 'Bond'? Either he somehow escaped - but it seemed pretty unequivocal considering we saw them blow him up idk? - or, by calling someone else 007 that's going to be the continuity. There won't be a future Bond, just a future 007. Which is fine, I guess, but not really the same :/

I thought it was fab! Didn’t feel as long as it was. I’m not sure how it’s meant to be this super woke cringefest some people online have described it as. Loved Ana de Armas, would like to see her character again.

In regards to the end, there’s been a theory for a while that ‘James Bond’ is a fake name given to an agent when joining the secret services, and there would be other fake names for other agents. Perhaps they’ll use that 🤷‍♀️ TBH I’m not a fan of this theory because it wouldn’t make sense, especially when people who knew him as a child (eg. Blofeld) call him James.

I do wonder if this film was testing the waters of a female 007, perhaps for a spin off?

Ana de Armas was criminally underused. She was brilliant in her few minutes of screen time.

The last five minutes or so, basically after the screen faded white, was entirely terrible. They didn't know how to end it.

I wanted more humours elements, the bickering between Bond and Nomi could've pushed a bit further.

I wanted the Q at home scene to go a bit further, I wanted the missing person to turn up and see the chaos unfolding around, and Q have to try and deal with it. (I hope that is clear to the people who know which scene I mean, but not spoilery for those who haven't seen it yet)

Rami Malek's character for me needed developing and fleshing out a lot more. More backs story and motivations etc.

But overall a good film, I really enjoyed it.

I thought this too...I was looking out for wokeness and I mean, there was a gay character who we all knew was gay anyway, and one single black woman lol? Some of these complainants are letting their racism and homophobia show methinks...
There was nothing woke about the film. It was just more diverse than previous Bond films have been, but without any sense there was any preaching or pushing an agenda.

I was surprised to see people being so happy about Q being gay in the film, and I just thought, well we always knew he was didn't we. Unless I just assumed that because Ben Wishaw is gay, he was playing a gay Q.

Yes that's what we discussed on the drive home, I'd be shocked if it wasn't 007 from now on

Went with my daughter to watch last night.. didn’t think it was as good as spectre or sky fall plot wise but still a highly enjoyable bond film.. we watch them for the humour, the action and because we love Daniel Craig.. 😉
However my my, both of us ended up in tears at the end.. actual full on tears 😫😫😫

I thought it was amazing but then I do fancy Daniel Craig sooo 🤣 The casting was incredible. The title sequence gave me goosebumps. Billie, Finneas and Hans Zimmer did an incredible job. Rami Malek did an incredible job as Safin. I found it really hard to dislike him as the villain? Ana de Armas looked stunning as Paloma and I liked that she was a little bit goofy and all over the place when we were first introduced to her. I wish we saw more of her. It was nice to see the personalities of the women in James Bond more, I really liked Lashana Lynch as Nomi. I loved the action sequences and the locations, breathtaking. I looked up the hotel they used to film in Matera, Italy and it’s booked up for two years! No surprise really

I’m gutted that they killed off James Bond. I know it was Daniel’s last film but it was so sad and emotional. As Daniel co-produced this film I think he chose to kill his character off but I do wonder what that means for the next films. I don’t think anyone could top him to be honest. I also can’t help but think what if Safin was lying? What if the blood wasn’t contaminated with the nanobot virus? Surely Bond could have been seperated from Madeleine and Mathilde until they found a cure and then they could drive off into the sunset? He was finally happy and then they had to blow him up 😭🤣

I got proper Dr. No vibes off rami character dunno of that was on purpose to subtly tie back to the first 007 film. I like the scene where u see the oil paintings of pervious heads of mi6 in corridor nice nod to the past. Overall I enjoyed the film. first film I've seen in the cinema since covid and was in the directors suite semi empty. Daniel and Sean connery are my fav James bonds. I'm even guilty to enjoying the pantomem of the 80s with Roger Moore and well I'm biased as an Irish person towards pierce and poor Timothy Dalton I like his 2 films short but sweet. I think Daniel Craig and Ana de great chemistry. Wasn't overly loving the lashana lynch character ya we get it u feel threatening.

Gosh, I thought it was rubbish and didn’t really enjoy it at all. In fact I would have left if I hadn’t of been trapped in by a row of grannies.

I thought the characters were weak, the woke bits felt tokenistic and not well rounded. I thought the Bomd girl looked like Bridget Jones in those swinging white jeans and M&S style sandals! Not enough glamour, passion or excitement for me!
