I thought it would be a good idea to have somewhere to share news stories, but if this is the wrong place to discuss various news articles, please forgive me.
So I was watching the news on BBC1 yesterday morning and saw a little boy who was born with cerebral palsy and has epilepsy too. His mum was told he'd never walk unaided but earlier this year he gave it a whirl. He then watched Captain Tom and told his mum he wanted to do something to raise money for charity, so he did a 2.6 mile walk around his garden finishing on his 9th birthday, bless him. Money raised is for the Epilepsy Society. That's the good news.
The reason he was on the News is because trolls targeted various Twitter accounts posting flashing images that could and did cause epileptic fits. Can you believe anyone would be so cruel? So there's an Online Harms Bill that's going through and the Epilepsy Society want a piece of legislation to include photosensitive images becoming illegal to be posted, and they want to name it after the little boy - Zachs Bill.
There's a lot more information about this on the Epilepsy Society website. But I think this has to be read in parts here. We have a little boy who has just learnt to walk, raising money for a charity, then abused and bullied by trolls. A good piece of news that needed to be made, albeit really cruel, it's inspirational too.
