New BBC drama on Jimmy Saville’s Life

What are peoples thoughts on this? Personally I don’t see the need at all.

I agree, don't see the need for it. Although Jeff Pope has made some good TV, I can't even imagine who would play Saville in the role or why they would want to?

Also strange it's the BBC making this when they were the ones who enabled him!

It's a good idea if tackled the right way. It will hopefully show how he got away with it, how people were manipulated by him etc. It will also raise the question of people who do good (eg his charity work) are sometimes hiding something dark and how do the two contrasts work. we cant just ban things we dont like or make us uncomfortable. It has the potential to raise important questions we can learn from in the future.

Of course it could also be rubbish and it will be a tricky subject to get right, but it's an important subject to try and shine a light on.

This isn't even in production yet, I can't see this happening, the BBC have to find an Actor to play him, can't see any Actor wanting this role.

I don’t see the point of this at all. Why bring him back into the spotlight? As I child I found him a creepy man, there was always something scary and odd about him. It came as no great surprise to learn that he was a sexual predator and paedophile.
