Jane is announced for the Neighbours Farewell Tour! Hope Paul is next 🤞wonder why it's taking so long to confirm who's coming.
Agree it's not the same without it, I've tried Home and Away but its just not Ramsay Street 🫶 I can't believe we will likely never see it again, I'm properly grieving for it 😢

I couldn't get on with Home and Away at all. I am currently watching old episodes on you tube from a you tube channel called "Ben" if anyone is interested. I am really enjoying them. I also watched a new interview with the woman that played Sharon (Shazza!) She is a bubbly person in real life the interview was about 45 mins and she did nearly all the talking. It all takes the edge off missing new Neighbours episodes, so thank goodness for you tube folk! I started the old episodes from the point where Charlene left. I didn't want to watch the whole Charlene and Scott romance thing again I bought in to it at the time, but prefer the time a bit afterwards I have to say.

I’m watching the Ben channel too from the start. It’s comforting to still hear Paul Robinsons voice every day 😂

I have tickets for Glasgow & I am rather peed off to have received an email saying they’ve moved it from Concert Hall to Armadillo! I had good seats & handy for the train home 😡

Anyone else watch it? The trailer made it look great and I was disappointed it was only half an hour long. But then I watched it and was glad it was. I was expecting a whole lot more about Georgie when it was just cheaply made with old video footage. They didn't go in to detail of the op the doc was built around but we can guess. She didn't speak about when she felt like a girl, what it was like being a boy, how it was at school for her etc.

I've not watched it yet, I've been meaning to watch it but never felt in the mood.

No but might give it a watch thanks (even though it sounds a bit poor.. ) Glad to see people on this thread again anyway I miss Neighbours and I miss this thread! I have watched some of the old episodes on you tube from the 80s though and I have enjoyed them second time around. There were more "normal" storylines in those days. It's no good comparing then with now though the world was different and viewing habits certainly were..

I've just watched it via your link. I thought it was good. Just enough info for a short documentary which potentially makes it more accessible than a longer one, so it reaches a wider audience.

She's fought so hard for what she believes in, I admire her.

I’ve not heard of this documentary so might give it ago.
I still follow a lot of the cast on Instagram and still live in hope someone will see sense and recommission it, even a mini series would do! Maybe a mini series based in Lassiters.

I miss it so much, especially now the summer holidays are over. I used to catch up when my youngest was at nursery and now I can’t. I need to watch from the beginning, I might start on a nursery day.

I tried to watch home and away, I’ve not watched since a tax came back for Riki, but I can’t get back into it, it doesn’t have the same humour or lightness that neighbours had.

I always felt that H&A was better at big stunts and villains (some of them were a bit less pantomine-ish than Neighbours), but Neighbours actually felt like more of a community what with all of the events and them living on the same street. H&A just doesn't feel as integrated in that sense.

No I tried Home and Away twice briefly but gave up. It doesn't seem to have a family atmosphere anymore. I think Neighbours did until the end even if the families did come "in all shapes and sizes". I think Home and Away could have reintroduced a brief intro to say who is who to try and make it easier for ex Neighbours viewers who wanted to try and get back in to H&A. It could have just been for a short time to try and entice ex Neighbours in. I know that H&A films on the beach alot but I felt that scenes that weren't looked a bit dark. I know the scenes I watched would have been filmed in their winter but even so. Overall I just didn't click with it which is a shame as really wanted to.

I agree, home and away is good at stunts and they have great baddies. I remember at one point there seemed to be an explosion every few months in h&a. It definitely doesn't have that same sense of family and I think it's more serious than neighbours. I always used to say that if they were English soaps, neighbours would be corrie and home and away would be eastenders but nit as depressing and with better actors.

The two episodes I watched j only recognised Leah and Soleen, oh and Leah's joyfroend had just joined when I stopped watching. It was very dark and a policeman had been shot and I think the river boys were back.

I miss this show like mad. I hope it wins at the NTAs, even if the awards ceremony is basically an ITV love-in 🙄. I watched the final few years of the show, and it was in such a good place making the axing all the more devastating. It was the soap that remained truest to its roots and never strayed far from its original concept. The finale was brilliant and I could never imagine a British soap wrapping up in such a celebratory or perfect way.

No they said it would be a celebration and they meant it! It was so sad though with the final clip of Karl and Susan, you could tell she was holding back tears but being professional to the end..
