Yeah I get the not overshadowing bit and agree with that thinking, and the fact they were just doing a piece independent of the storyline but Kylie just seemed weird.. Jason hasn't got any criticism because his little bit just seemed natural, Kylie's didn't. Just running off to the window and not saying anything, your suggestion sounded good and wouldn't have taken anymore time to do..
I agree. That doesn't really explain anything. They weren't in the wedding scene. They could have had a separate conversation with just Kylie and Jason as they, did, but with proper dialogue. If anything, they've drawn more attention to themselves because it looked so bizarre!

It also doesn’t help that Kylie’s face looked so unnatural. At least Jason has grown old gracefully and looks really well (despite his dark druggie days of the 90s) but Kylie’s face looked like someone was wearing a badly made Kylie mask. Like those inferior waxworks at the Blackpool version of Madame Tussaud’s where you are hard pushed guessing who the celebrities are meant to be

I am still doing a bit of joining of the dots from the final episodes before I leave Neighbours behind. 😭 Apparently when Jane came back to Erinsborough a couple of yrs ago she told Paul Mike said hi and he was teaching in the Philippines.. It says this in both of Jane and Mike's Wikipedia's.. Why then in the final episodes did Jane and Mike act like they had not been in contact with each other since he left Erinsborough decades ago? Very odd.. Edited to say it was Gail that actually said hi, but Jane knew Mike was working in the Philippines in roughly 2018 anyway..

H&A is on prime
I watched 4/5 episodes in between other stuff when i had covid the other week.
I don't have prime, I might have to stop my C5 boycott and watch it 😂

I remember her saying she was in touch with him, they often change things and think we'll forget. I think they also changed it to tie up the final and for those people who only tuned in for the final, who for some reason they wanted to please.

Yes I am just being a bit picky which soap doesn't have holes in it's storylines? The British ones have always been full of them if you look hard enough. I will forgive them as I did like the Mike and Jane storyline of them both getting back together! I am going to try to get in to Home and Away again I think before winter. I tried a few months back though and just couldn't get in to it, but think I will have to be patient. The problem I have is I am not good with remembering faces, so it makes trying new programs a nightmare. Neighbours was good because it had a small cast and I knew some of them already when I went back to it. H&A only know 3 I think .

Very late to the party.
I never really watched Neighbours, I was more into Home & Away at the time. But as more and more of the great characters left, I lost interest.
I have been watching the week long Neighbours final episodes, it looks like I missed out on something, by not watching the show properly.
Definitely.. I had only been back watching it slightly less than a yr, after 25 yrs of not watching and I genuinely loved it. Someone else commented that it was only 20 mins of their day, but how sad they were that that 20 mins was no more. I really feel like that.. I am an early bird and used to watch it before work thanks to catch up, I now watch Emmerdale then instead, but it's just not the same. I sound like it's some sort of bereavement I am aware and I have lost both parents as well as others in my life, so don't say this lightly but it feels like it. Wow, that was a bit deep, I am sure you are glad you stopped by! I am going to finish on this thread here and move on, but yes it will be sorely missed by many it was great!

I haven’t watched Neighbours for 20 odd years, absolutely loved it when I was a kid. I had to watch the last episode, loved seeing Kylie and Jason (even for a few minutes) but Guy Pearce was my real crush back in the day, I adored him 🥰, obviously I’ve seen him in films over the years but it was so lovely seeing him back in Ramsay Street 😊. Such lovely memories of watching Neighbours growing up 🙂

Same, I haven’t watched for 25 plus years but got all the nostalgia watching the last one. I remember 510pm was home and away and then change change for 537pm for Neighbours 🤣 sure I still have some annuals in the loft and sticker books. I didn’t have a clue who most of the characters were in the last episode aside from the golden oldies. Susan and Karl still feel like the new family to me 🤣

Kylie wouldn't have been able to win. If she had said more people would have said she's taking the spotlight from the regular cast. Because she was told to say so little she gets it for not seemingly being bothered.

I don't think so, Jason had a few lines, for me it wasn't so much about her not speaking, it just looked like she didn't want to be there. I don't think she would have taken the spotlight away from the main cast at all if she'd said more. I personally think for those of us that have always watched it, they'd never have taken the spotlight away, for the 'nostalgia' viewers the spotlight was firmly on them two and Guy.
Personally, I was just disappointed in both Kylie and Jason, I'd have liked them to interact more with other cast members. I think it would have been nice if they could have given more time like Guy did. I think they should have come back before the final to see Paul and even Glen.

saw this tweet and really agreed with it. it annoyed me the current cast were just kind of pushed to the sidelines in favour of kylie and jason and all the old returnees. there have been some good storylines in recent times that never get shown, but scott and charlene's wedding is all anyone talks about

Having said that, i was really disappointed none of the Timmins family made an appearance! all the other big families from the past were mostly represented, a quick video message from Janelle would have been great! (Or stingray's ghost appearing, as someone else said - he did die on that street!)

I loved the Timmins, Janelle was a brilliant character.

Such a good point. I know they were limited on time and everything but could’ve done more about the past of the show. It was like 80s tiny bit of 90s some of 00s then straight to 2022.
