You are right.

Just re-watched the balcony scene near the end.

It was clearly filmed separately.

Jane, Harold, Paul, Scott and Charlene on one side. Then cutting to Mike, Jane and Harold on the other.

They weren't all seen together at the same time.

I liked the final, but those two should never have been in the final and ot should have been focused more on the amazing current cast.


It must be a bit gutting that you only come back to it a year ago and now it's ended.
It was so cheesy scene. I think of he was to do so soap here it would have to be Corrie or Emmerdale, he'd need a soap with humour. I know it's not Dr K on real life, but he seems quite a fun person.
I think he'd want to neighbours of they manage to bring it back. I've read it could be possible, smaller studio, smaller cast and crew, less off shoot locations and they be able to pay the actors less. I guess you can tell that I'm hopeful again 😂😭

Let's hope so fingers crossed, yes very sad about it ending as have become a big fan again in the 10 months of watching it again. I have mentioned before that the last few months I have been watching Emmerdale again and it's ok, but don't love it. I do agree about Kylie and Jason, but I did enjoy seeing the rest of the returnees (even though I kept having to Google some of them!). I certainly got a sense of what a madam Izzie was / is! Two more points, would not have known Philip Martin if a newspaper hadn't shown a picture.. I do think of him as looking like he did on the Specsavers sponsor adverts still . Another point I have watched both versions and how did Channel 5 deem it appropriate to put "Green, Green Grass" as a song for Mel getting out the wedding car . "You better throw a party on the day that I die". Not really appropriate given Toadie's marriage history. I do like a bit of dark honour, but think it was a bit much. The Aussie version didn't have the pop songs..

No they weren't.. Talking about getting close.. I loved it at the wedding when Mel said "Come closer you are all too far away!" I thought it was a nice touch as given the last few yrs who says that very often anymore. It was also maybe a nod to the fact that they have the vast percentage of their audience watching from far away..

I've not watched Corrie for a couple of months now, I'll probably start again now neighbours is no longer. I watched Emmerdale when Meena was in it, it was good.

series 1 & 2 are on prime aswell.

I love Australian shows City Homicide, Rescue Special Ops, Rush, Tangled, RFDS, Saving Grace, Mcleods Daughters, All Saints, Packed to the Rafters, Underbelly, Sea Patrol, Water Rats, Offspring etc etc
quite a few of the ones above are on prime
 
I watched the final for nostalgia reasons too and enjoyed it, but a lot of the time I was thinking who IS that??? Some faces were vaguely familiar, just really old! And I didn't realise that the really old guy who was hanging about was Des Barnes!!! Dr Karl used to be fit, but now! Not so much.

Des Barnes lol. Think you mean Clarke. I guess it would be weird if you haven’t watched in ages but Des has been back a couple of times over the years looking the same.
Also Alan Fletcher has alopecia

No, I didn't. I'm not sure if it will be as good. If they could get some of the old cast back, that would be good, maybe Scott Major could direct it.
I enjoyed Wentworth, but I was top young for prisoner, so enjoyed Wentworth, but probably wouldn't have if I'd have watched prisoner, if that makes any sense.
 
My Aussie relatives have just sent an email, we just email a few times a yr, so they must have somehow guessed I was missing my slice of Australian life today. It's so spooky, because they don't actually know that I have been watching Neighbours again. I will tell them! I watched a bunch of episodes from the 80s on you tube the other month, I was only 6 or 7 when they aired so don't remember much about them. My earliest Neighbours memories are Shane jumping off a diving board and a strange woman called Mrs Forbes waving a gun around (real family viewing..) I have looked her up recently and she was a character I hadn't remembered wrong..

I know it was seen as a family show but we had the first episode on vhs and the first scene terrified me as a kid

I was wondering what had happened when I saw him. I did recognise Des Clarke, and it took me a while to recognise Izzy. And Paul's girlfriend I recognised from Home and Away, but didn't know who she was here.
