Murdaugh Murders: A Southern Scandal

This was sooooooo boring.

I also hate that Netflix are making one-sided documentaries on cases that are yet to go to trial or going through trial and effectively painting the person as guilty or innocent to influence the outcome. They lean in favour of whichever party agrees to sit down and talk to them. It is very irresponsible, as bad as those Unsolved Mystery episodes that were clearly suicides and they left out critical information to make it seem like something else happened.

i agree on both your points! i can't say i think those kids are completely innocent, especially morgan, paul's ex girlfriend. she was giving me mean girl vibes the whole time i was watching and seemed very insincere. i went to look up her instagram page, she had posted a tribute to mallory when they found her body, then a month after that a pic from a music festival, then another month after that pics of her and the third girl, miley (what's with all the m names? 😅), on stairs in front of her clothing store. and in the documentary she says she couldn't hang out with her for a long time. another two months later she was already in a serious relationship with another boy. i understand they were kids, but i feel like she knew about a lot of things (she was with him for 4 years after all...) but she liked the money and if the accident hadn't happened she 100% would have stuck with him and become the next maggie murdaugh

The only one that came across sort of well out of it was Connor.

But then you do sort of have to remember they were all 16 or so. It's not an excuse but I dread to think back to when I was 16.

I got weird vibes from Morgan as well. I thought that Miley and Connor came across well and I was interested by the conflict of emotions for the boyfriend of Mallory who was also best friends with Paul (can't remember his name!). That he couldn't bring himself to be friends with him anymore but couldn't completely condemn him either.

I think it is so frightening the grip that one family could have over an area - that the investigation into the death of the poor boy on the road just disappeared
