Does anyone know anyone who's been on either of these shows, or have any insider gossip about them?

I absolutely loved both!

I was amazed at how many people on MTBHW didn't actually own their houses - easily discoverable after a quick Google.

It was always funny reading the reviews for the FIAB establishments too.

omg I didn't know this about MTBHW! would be intrigued if anyone has any gossip, love FIAB especially.
I don;t know anyone on this show, but I know someone (friend of a freind) who was on Come Dine, it is much more set up than it seems, apparently the producers actually heavily control alcohol (for most people) so everyone is not just blind drunk and it lasts a lot longer than it seems because they have to keep changing camera angles and re filming etc

I'd recommend the first series of Instant Hotel on Netflix. An Australian reality show similar to Four in a Bed with some very petty contestants.

Yes, that is a good one!

Here in NZ they used to play in the afternoons and we had quite old series playing, so it was always easy to look up the contestants and see what the go was ... often I'd see mention of them on forums (where people would say things such as, "Oh, she doesn't own the house - she lives next door but wanted to be on TV," stuff like that). I remember one time there was a very fancy-looking woman who described herself as being single, yet when she gave a tour of her house it was quite obvious that a family lived there (it had three living rooms, childrens' rooms that were obviously lived in, etc.). I discovered she was the interior designer who had worked on the family's home and used the show to promote her business! Oh well, it doesn't make it any less fun to watch.

Hilarious that there was not even an effort to hide the children's rooms :ROFLMAO:

I've just watched this, quite enjoyed it, the scoring should be kept in secret until the end imo, sad news from first season, Janine from Barrossa Old Garage b n b has died from mnd, and Shay Razaei from alleged battle with drugs.
About to watch season 2, but Laurence Llewellyn Bowen is hosting, not a fan!!!!

I actually liked the fact they revealed ratings, added to the tension :ROFLMAO: haven't watched the second season yet, might start this weekend

Lystra, the (ridiculous) one with the massive arse from Real Housewives of Cheshire did an episode of MTBHW. She was unbearable in that too.

They did a MTBHW in my area. One of the houses was in a street 5 mins walk away from my house and at the time the programme aired, the house was on the market. So I think she did own the house but went on the show to market it.

I liked how some of the contestants kept repeating the same lines e.g. Leroy and his degree in interior design/"the Devil is the detail" and Serena being in the top 1% of TripAdvisor reviewers.

Instant hotel season 2, they've changed the format!
6 episodes, only 4 couples, the 2 highest scorers get 10,000 dollars to make improvements, the other couples stay again, judge and score, the 2 hosts judge and score more, the prize is 100,000 dollars!!!
