With the change in direction of the programme - from people with normal jobs/lives seeking love and marriage through being matched by ‘science’ and professionals to people seeking to further their media career (in acting, presenting, singing, modelling) and increase their social media followers/influencer clout/get blue tick status - I’m wondering if they haven’t all just been told to do what they can to create an interesting programme and storyline.

This might have been interpreted differently
* being loud, arguing and causing drama (Nikita, Amy)
* trying to appear the most in love (Tayah and Adam, Matt and Daniel)
* seeming to be on the biggest ‘journey’ (Megan and Bob, Morag and Luke)
* acting in the role of the villain (Megan, Franky, Jordon)
but it all feels really forced.

I think the programme is now a very different beast to the previous version. It is entertaining but I’m not sure it can be taken as genuine.

I agree. They are doing it for media exposure, experience & Instagram followers! Luke seems a genuine guy, not sure about the rest of them!
 
This is my first time watching MAFS in any form. I went into it expecting some trashy TLC style reality show and come out of it hating everyone. My thoughts, and I’m tit with names so excuse any errors:

Marylise and James Bond: RUN GIRL RUN JUST CRASH STRAIGHT THROUGH THE FECKIN WALL oh my lord can you imagine how that’s going to be when the cameras are gone? He makes my skin crawl. Everything he does, everything he says, it’s just either cringe factor turned up to infinity or massive wailing red danger siren.

Megan and Bob. Bob is one of two exceptions to my I-hate-everyone verdict. My friends and I have set up a Bob fan club. We’re looking for a secretary. Megan is a bleep and can choke. I want to drop kick her every time she appears.

Morag and Luke: Marylise should use Morag as a battering ram against the wall to make her escape route. She (Morag) is literally disgusting. The way she’s crushing that man is heartbreaking, and moulding him into a whole new man is offensive to watch. He is love, and I want to rescue him.

Amy and Josh: Josh—eh. Don’t care. Amy’s a wagon and can go duck herself. She’s permanently fuming and then can’t understand why her man isn’t all warm and fuzzy with her. Tell your face, love.

The “in love” couple, I can’t remember their names: Don’t give a tit.

Matt and his husband, I can’t remember his name either: They’re fine but completely bland.

Who am I forgetting? People I don’t give a tit about apparently.

This show is terrible and an absolute waste of anyone’s time. I’ll see you tonight for episode 11.

I detested Tammy girl and C&A 😭😭Mum use to drag me in. Tammy girl had Etam attached to its stores hated that too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I cannot believe some of the behaviour amongst the girls of the show. Megan - she‘s treated Bob so badly. He’s still on the sofa! Then last night she wanted him to kiss her and then said enough.
Morag - where to begin. I cannot get my head around the fact she got Luke to wear those legging type of trousers. Screaming to anyone and everyone they slept together and the fireman outfit.
Amy - throwing things at Josh. Wanting him to be affectionate and at times talking so rudely to him.
If any of the guys acted in this way, it would be seen as red flags, gaslighting, even in cases forms of domestic abuse. It should not be allowed.

I agree it’s one thing to say in private assuming it won’t be aired and another for it to be declared to the dinner party and the nation. Very strange she felt appropriate to declare it in such a way.
