Mr Moo and I were in severe financial strife a while back. It was part of the reason he had Burn Out and had to be medically retired from his profession in his early 50s.
We got Into a spiral of debt and mental health issues. We sorted it, but it took a decade and a lot of hard truths. It wasn't very nice.
We're OK now and both were advised by a financial mental health adviser(yes, that's a thing!) to get a clearscore account. Literally been a lifesaver for us. I couldn't work out why my credit score was so low despite doing everything we were told to do. Lots of help because the app shows you what lenders see.
Silly things like double checking all your financial activity is linked to your home address, something I'd assumed was automatic but isn't. I also found out I had a defunct catalogue from the 90s attached to me and that my NEXT account was attached to my old phone number.
