Man arrested on suspicion of Jo Jo Dullard's murder is son of deceased Fine Gael politician

I don't think it's the same person who killed Dierdre Jacobs. This article goes into more detail about the suspect and they seem to think that he's managed to live with what he did, perhaps by compartmentalising the killing as he's moved on and built a stable life. There's no suggestion that he is a serial offender. I'm curious as to why he came forward all those years ago admitting that he'd given Jo-Jo a lift. Did someone give a description of his car? I hadn't realised that her family were convinced that it was him right from the get-go. It does seem that there was a cover-up. If they don't find a body, it's hard to see how they will be able to progress the case after all this time.

No, he was released without charge. Apparently they arrested him because they received information which undermined his alibi of being elsewhere when Jo Jo made her last call to her friend. He made no admissions in his interview, so he was released.
