I feel like it’s so cliché now on MIC:
guy will date girl, it won’t work out and they end things, then someone tells girl how the guy has gone for someone else and they kick off.

The Aussie chick and all others like her, are just looking for an excuse to kick off. They feel hurt and rejected and are looking for any excuse to kick off at the guy for not wanting them. It’s always the same old “I feel this always happens to me”. It doesn’t happen to you. It just happens. It’s the nature of dating, now that we all move around more and don’t just settle down age 19 with a local fella because we aren’t likely to meet anyone else. I honestly think a lot of them would just have Miles ignore the fact he isn’t reciprocating their feelings, and commit anyway, to soothe their egos.

Miles led her on for sure, but they weren’t exclusive. They were never in a relationship and that’s the crappiest part of dating; both people are testing the waters before committing, which means rejection is just a possible outcome of that. He hasn’t really done anything that bad by texting someone else because they were never in a relationship or exclusive. Aussie girl would’ve been better to pick up her dignity and hold her head high instead of ranting in a club at a guy who simply isnt interested in her and never had a serious interest. Surely she knew this was a huge risk that it wouldn’t work when she was chatting back and forth with him while she was in Australia? He doesn’t owe her anything just because she got on a flight to come see Miles. More fool her for becoming too invested before establishing an actual relationship with someone.

Miles got super excited about her and wants to settle down but she flew over, they hung out and he decided he wasn’t feeling it. I’m not a fan of the guy and it’s annoying he does this a lot but that’s… just how it is sometimes. We can’t just settle down with someone we aren’t feeling it with because we’ve had an unsuccessful dating history.

I say all this as someone who was single for most of my 20s, dated a lot and didn’t meet my fiancé until I was 27. I rejected a ton of people, and a ton of them rejected me. It *sucked balls* at the time and I had a lot of the same feelings of “why always me” that these girls do, but I’m glad they did reject me. Because my fiancé is a much better fit for me than any of them, and it was just my ego crying out for validation.

The only redeeming trio in this show: Paris + Robbie + Joel.

I think it's a classic trajectory for a lot of women in their 20s; romanticising a complete hole based one his one of two redeeming qualities and hoping you'll somehow fix him, and you'll eventually be "the one" he'll choose to settle with. I personally think a lot of it's down to the sheer dearth of high-value single men, that women have lowered their standards and will settle for so much less than they deserve. I feel for Ella but hopefully she'll learn from her mistakes and realise her worth after this experience.

I think a large part of the issue is the horribly broken culture of dating where people treat one another disposably and/or are always looking out for the "next best thing" that will meet the exacting requirements of their delusional tickbox of "ideal partner" material. Like you, I've dated my share of twit-waffles despite the many glaring red flags they displayed from early on, and hoping they would somehow miraculously change in time. My boyf has restored my faith in men, and duck me, he's a rare gem in the cesspit of modern dating, which I think has a lot to do with us being friends first and the foundation of respect being laid very early on. I don't personally think apps or reality shows are the way to go about dating meaningfully, but at the same time, I completely understand why people resort to them, especially in one's 30s.

Guys like Miles are ten-a-penny, unfortunately, and I really feel for single women who are trying to date and meet someone they can settle down with. It's horribly difficult. At the same time, I think eternal singledom is the infinitely preferable option to settling with some jackass.

I think Miles should have just waited a couple of days tbh. It's no skin off his nose and he'd be beyond reproach if Aussie Girl had already gone back home.

agreed. It definitely would’ve been a little more sensitive. But on a similar note..

he didn’t owe Ella anything at that point and he probably didn’t think she’d find out. After all, it’s his own business who he texts.

and if you like someone, you just have to go for it.

I think Miles spent some time with Ella, realised he wasn’t clicking and checked out of any potential relationship. I think when he has checked out… that’s it for him. He doesn’t want to cause any pain but in all likelihood he probably doesn’t care all that much anymore.

Just watched next week's episode. Melissa says her type is blonde Jude Law with ear rings. Why did she spend so long with Harry then?

cos she doesn’t like being single

I really like how they handled their fall out. Robbie explained why he was upset, Paris said sorry, Robbie said thank you for saying sorry, they hugged it out, friends again. The most mature trio in this show
That I wasn't expecting. Impressive when you compare their relative young ages to the other castmates, who squabble like petty children in their late 20s-mid 30s. However, one thing I find inexcusable about Robbie is his croc-effect pleather suit. What the hell was that about?🤣

I was confused by the double date and who was meant to be on a date with who. Why did they set her up with the brunette bloke and Ruby with the blonde?😅

VERY odd that when Melissa said her type was blonde they sent her on a double date with a brunette and gave the blonde to her mate.

Just saw miles stories. It's an absolute piss take how much room so few people are taking up on that flight. And is a walk up bar really needed.

Seeing as we are all being berated about bleeping carbon footprints and climate change and what not, should we not ensure that planes polluting the atmosphere should be at least fitting as many people as comfortably as possible, and not leaving space for a bleeping bar.

I hope Ch4 didn't pay for their flights.

Isn’t that just standard Etihad first class? There will also be a business and economy on their plane. I thought it was going to be a jet or something 😂

My ex colleague was stuck on a flight with a load of them when they flew to Argentina (business class, naturally). Apparently they held up the whole plane and pissed off a load of passengers. I think we've learned by now that E4 have zero moral scruples. You could tell them a cast member stabbed their own parent and they still wouldn't care.

The blonde guy gave me the ick. His banter wasn't even funny, but those girls aren't exactly the brightest bulbs😅

No idea, I've only even flown riff raff class to Europe. But it seems a waste of fuel seeing as we're in a supposed "global climate crisis". And as CH4 are big backers of the whole climate change agenda, I would hope they are not paying for such anti green travel.

This is pretty funny tbf

Yeah I guess so. I used to live in aus so have been on a lot of long haul Etihad flights and always flew business (absolutely not first lol I’m not rich) because I needed the comfort on that long of a journey and economy is brutal for 16+ hours.
Private jets are ridiculous though, but I do understand the need for “celebs” even z list to have a level of privacy.

They're just people, why do they need privacy. I live in an area with lots of celebs and most people leave them alone. They also mostly arnt that recognisable in real life. Or if they "need" privacy, give them a space away that is also more economical with cabin space..
