Heya, glad you’re not offended sorry I know everyone has *something* to say about fertility don’t they!
Re endo/PCOS, the same but different I had cancer and consultants said similar to me, they sort of shrug and say who
bleeping knows, right? I guess they can’t confirm either way unless they bother to undertake the relevant scans (might be worth discussing with your GP if you can get a referral for those btw? Worst they can do is say no
) so would rather lean towards the pessimistic option so you don’t have false hope…? But I managed to have my miracle baby very soon after being unwell, and IVF is available on the NHS - if you’ve got endo consultants definitely talk to them about it as I was going through my onc consultant to start discussions and then bam she thankfully came. I know it’s
tit and honestly I’ve been there crying until my face is red raw from the salt content wishing the sofa would swallow me up, but it does get better. Life isn’t always what we thought it’d be but what’s meant for you will never pass you by.
Also there’s a book called motherhood a manifesto, the first few chapters are a bit much graphic wise but there’s some around the research that’s gone into fertility and even birthing methods and it’s all TRAAAASH! I wish I’d read it before being pregnant and birth, and arguably even that early maternity when your head is all over the place. I understand that a book called motherhood is probs tbe last thing on earth you want to read but those chapters are empowering and hope giving, I promise.
Best of luck my love - obvs none of us know what’s in your future but I wish I knew then what I know now if that makes sense? That medicine isn’t all black/white most of it is grey and no one ever really knows. These sweeping statements like oh age and xyz are very broad generalisations and you’ll always have people that buck the trend either way. Older motherhood is increasingly common now so hopefully medical professionals will get up to speed with this!! xxxx
