i think they all think theyre going to be propelled into stardom but lets face it the season 6/season 7 cast have to take pretty tit influencing deals to make money, there's not gonna be another molly mae people are too used to the formula now. season 5 was the peak of the show and itll just decline now. people think theyre gonna go into love island and earn enough money to retire/never have to work again but thats really not the case anymore.
I think this show peaked by season 3 with season 2 being the best. While the following two seasons were entertaining they were far more orchestrated in comparison to the previous seasons where they’d been allowed to drink and smoke etc. Nowadays the entire episode is ‘let’s go have a chat’ while everyone else in the villa is in complete silence and it was nothing like that in the past, it was so much more natural.

Why do all the Islanders look the same year in and year out? I’d have thought ITV would have learned by now. There is very little diversity. The men in particular are all awful, with massive overly pumped up gym arms, shoulders and torsos with skinny legs (because they always skip leg day obvs). I don’t find this kind of look attractive at all, never have and I don’t know many who do on reflection. The women are a bit better, no ridiculous lip and cheek fillers so far, but still it’s all of a muchness. I think this is where I miss Big Brother as the people were always a bit more real.
Well Matt Hancock wasn't available so..... 😊

I cant stop laughing at this reply to the official twitter page 😂😭

Does anyone remember Niall Aslam? The guy from season 4 who has autism and left early for mental health reasons? His tiktoks are the height of desperate attention seeking. It's actually sad to watch how much he regurgitates the same content about mental illness and obsessing over Love Island. I can almost guarantee he'll find his way in to the media again this summer criticising the show and trying to go viral again by reposting the same stuff over and over again.

Niall was diagnosed with psychosis while in the show and transferred to a psychiatric unit in London. He got the best of care there.
I don’t know what else he expects from the show at this point. The high stress environment of LI wasn’t right for him.
He and savannah (casa girl series 4) expected to be big stars from the show and can’t accept it didn’t happen.

Yes, I don’t think any of the contestants actually apply anymore. If you look at the first two series the islanders were much more ‘normal‘ looking. I actually know of someone who was a standby about three years ago, and she was approached by the producers. She’s a very successful MUA who‘s become very well knows locally, she really didn’t need to do it. Not sure why she did as she’s genuinely got a good business going and had to cancel all of her prom and wedding clients to do the show which didn’t go down well. But I suppose the offer was too good to be true.
So she cancelled clients and was only a standby? Did she end up going on?
