I think they should talk to the people who select the candidates on First Dates, they are normal, often funny, actually want to find love...

Apparently the age demographic for LI is 18-34. Its why they can get away with charging 100k per advert. That age range is apparently the hardest to influence with TV ads as they are the least likely to watch live TV.

First time watcher! I can't compare to previous years but I felt a bit underwhelmed - hoping it gets a bit more interesting! Not loving Faye's bikini AT ALL.

I also thought the new girl who is about to come in looks a bit like Nicky Hilton in that clip of her walking towards the villa

I’m not sure about last series but it came out in series 5 only 6 out of 36 contestants actually applied normally. Everyone else was scouted by producers.
I imagine this series is the same and not many of them actually auditioned

I've never watched Love Island before but thought I would give it a go. I'm not quite sure what I've got myself in for at this point mainly I'm just looking forward to actually understanding all the memes and references for once!!

My other half says he can’t stand it and then sits watching it every year.
If he misses it one night he will ask me what happened too.. but he can’t stand it

It's like any of the reality shows. They're all nicey nicey for the first few days then they start to become their real selves.

Faye's bikini only stayed up because of her fake boobs.

Also I like the fact that the majority of the men have proper jobs (the women/girls not so much ) , although being a labourer at 26 is a bit... surely he (Brad) should've picked a trade by now..maybe he is thinking being an Insta Z lister is easier.

Is a bit??? A labourer is a trade, theres nothing wrong with being a labourer no matter what age the person is.
