You’re naive if you think reality is past that point (in my opinion)! There’s no way the producers did NOT know about that comment, no way whatsoever. The thing people need to realise, is we are being shown only what the producers want us to see, in a way in which they want us to see it.
It suits them to make Danny the evil bad guy as it’s getting ratings up and people talking about it. I just wish more people could see it for what it is.

I'm naive? Come off it lol. He's an hole who doesn't see an issue with coming out with the n-word, with clear anger issues to boot. He's not suitable for the show. They're not making him out to be anything, he's been bad vibes from the whole two hours we've seen of him. You can't edit something out of thin air.

I thought Chloe had the most irritating voice and then along came Lucinder ... Can't stand it.

I think a lot of the girls are doing this talking through their teeth thing. Is it supposed to sexy and seductive?

She definitely thinks she's some sort of minx. I don't know what it is about her but I can't warm to her at all. She was very creepy with Liam.

I don't think they were his words. Sounds like a typical cliched 'politicians apology' statement from the ITV press relations team.
 
I’d bet a lot of money on the fact they didn’t tell the other islanders about Danny’s racist comment. Probably just pulled him to the side, and sorted the apology for him. Sheriff last year said his apology/statement was written FOR him and he just had to sign.

Just going to add: the LI producers themselves seem to have a racial bias so I’m not surprised Danny remains in the villa unscathed. Sheriff was unceremoniously kicked out for much less; Faye called Brad a bleep, Ellie from S4 called Georgia an “ugly bleep” in an aggressive manner when they were arguing, no repercussions there. In addition, they refuse to bring in people who explicitly state they are attracted to POC. Such people exist! Everyone else can see this is an issue and there is a way to remedy it but they won’t. Also on S4, Samira and Frankie’s whole relationship was edited out, they went to the hideaway and everything and it was never shown. This is the only time I think that has happened? So when he got dumped from the villa and she started crying, all the viewers were so confused. Anyway. If Danny were someone else, I bet he’d have been removed.

I said you’re naive if reality tv is ‘past that point’. The person I know who was part of a show similar to this couldn’t believe what was actually screened and more importantly, the order in which it was screened with key parts of conversations missed out etc. It made certain people out to be something they weren’t and she knew first hand, from having been there, that this wasn’t the case.
All I’m saying is, yes, it certainly looks like Danny has anger issues, but trust me when I say, the producers of this show, know how to edit in a way that accentuates people’s flaws and play on them.
This doesn’t mean that he isn’t everything everyone is saying, it may well turn out that he IS everything that they are making him out to be.
Which begs the question..... WHY have they put him on there in the first place then?!
They’ve either thrown him on to the show knowing who he is, or they’re making him out to be worse than he is - for me, neither of these scenarios are okay!
 
Danny's behaviour is extremely concerning. If he's like this over a girl he's known a couple of days I hate to think what he's like in a long term relationship.

Lucinda talks like a child and yes she's pretty but that's really all she's got going for her. It just shows how shallow these men are because she's got very little going on upstairs.
 
I have to admit that in this day & age of strong independent women, and many of these LI woman- irritating not- have good careers, educations & qualifications, that all the boys are lusting over Lucinda who is entirely vacuous.

Whether she is truly that vacant or choses to put it on as an act, it works, and it makes me endlessly disappointed in the male species that that is what they gravitate towards.

In fairness though, I don't think you can say that the blokes on Love Island are representative of the 'male species'. As a whole, LI attracts a certain kind of male and a certain kind of female, sure there are exceptions, but for the most part who we see are all clones of eachother. So stands to reason they will be attracted to the same thing. In the real world I don't think it's fair to say all men or even most would want what Lucinda is offering.

True dat. Also how could anyone find her voice attractive and be able to regularly listen to it by choice ? It is just awful even worse than Chloe and Liberty's. The 3 of them affect their hideous voices too. Who told them they sound good?

Actually I hated Sharon's voice also.

They have to pick from who is on the show and who is available though. Aaron for example didn't have a huge choice available and went with the most physically attractive who was available. Plus, Lucinda might be a bit dull but she's not especially offensive either. She could be someone who makes for dull TV but is actually alright when you're around them.

Plus it's not the real world and they have to couple up with someone. If you can't couple up with someone who you have a connection with, may as well go for the hot girl.

You could see Aaron going to say something and it cutting off or else like it would show Aaron as if he had just finished saying something. Wish they'd just give us the real full chat. I feel like they do the same thing with Liam and that's why he comes across so boring compared to his funny side on the unseen bits show.

Just watched it back to see what you're talking about. I watched carefully and I did not see any edits. Aaron was really stuttering the when time and not talking, and Danny was talking over him each time he tried.
Maybe that's what's you're referring to?
But I didn't see edit of Aaron talking taken out.

I dont doubt Aaron may have said something more afterwards, but definitely not in that moment.
