I think the issue is that people are too scared of Twitter and social media in general to actually cause any trouble. If a boy is a player then he’ll be called a ‘gaslighter’ and if someone tries to stir things up then they’ll be called a ‘narcissist’. I don’t really blame the contestants.

As an example, I remember Joe from S5. He was clearly just immature but Twitter were calling him all kind of names and basically saying he was a controlling gaslighter. Even when Maura was heavily flirting with Tommy, you had people saying ‘Omg imagine this was the other way round!!’ when it was all quite tongue in cheek and funny.

I think the show has finally reached its big brother after 2005 phase, where a once good TV show has become a shell of its former self so quickly and almost every major "twist" or curveball the producers throw at us has mostly fell flat. Plus it's mostly just really boring. 😴

Don't be surprised if ITV try to majorly shake up the format after this season.

Aww really looking forward to seeing Lucinda and Brads date tonight.

The casting has been shit this year, these people get younger and faker (soz Faye hun). The first 3 series were way better, real people mostly, genuine banter and not trying too hard to be sexy. Perhaps they’ve gone with shallow, dim people who won't cause them drama?

They’ve made it too bright, shiny and commercial now, it's not real; everyone just going through the motions for those brand deals. I also think its so boring because Love Island is rightly under so much scrutiny these days after the suicides. And like @Gamu said, the social media reaction to pretty minor things can be terrifying. They would never get away with some of the stuff they aired in earlier series. I don't know how they could get around it, It's either heavily managed and dull as fuck, or they risk being cancelled.

It’s definitely peaked I think, I hope they don't drag it on like big brother did.

Only watching now. Im still so lost. Chloe and Faye are the plainest girls in there do English lads really like blonde hair more than face etc🤣🤣🤣

I love that Aaron chose Kaz !! 🤣 dying 🤣 Poor Sharon all those fake cuddles hahahaa

Will they except a size 16 brunette 5'11.4 for Hugo?? Id go in and grab him !

I agree, in this format it's had it's day.

They should've changed it up this season and taken a few more risks.

@PepsiCherry i think it would be really refreshing if they did - the show would be a lot more relatable and be a lot more of a positive role model showing that people larger than a size 6 have boyfriends, fall in love and have a laugh on holiday.
I bet on the outside world most of those people have dated people with a belly and not a six pack! and been a lot happier than preening themselves and being scared of getting their hair wet!

According to first look, those with the fewest votes 'risk' being dumped. So does that mean there's more to it, aka islanders vote amongst themselves? They'd better not drag it out with another cliffhanger tonight. PRODUCERS, STOP DICKING ABOUT.

Usually when they say "risk", they mean the Islanders vote. Previously, if they've nominated two couples, the islanders have to vote to save one from each couple.

If they picked more 'normal' people and less obvious wannabe influencers I think we'd get better content

definitely. They need to be picking people over 25 that actually want to find partners, not people there for Boohoo deals. Sure, some of the younger people have lasted (Molly and Tommy are super young!) but most of them don't seem to care all that much. It seems like noone wants to be too out there in case they mess up and risk those endorsements.
