I think from about 25 and over you start to mature and recognise peoples crappy behaviours, particularly for women. It will be the much much younger crowd, uni age and younger who don’t really see it and think the boys are just being lads. I agree that we (media) need to do better in setting standards.

*Ive excluded the Facebook mums from this evaluation as they are just a breed of their own irrespective of age.

I see it this way too, Tasha is Lucas type and he just can't keep the rage in check cause she rejected him for Andrew at the start!!

Just as I suspected! It’s half that and half wanting to stick the boot into the couple so they can eliminate the competition. I’ll be gutted if they get opportunities off the back of this. They deserve a bag of nowt. Please let them slink back into obscurity, Dami being a microbiologist or whatever and Luca can resume his marine activities.

I agree, think she wants to feel wanted and have attention which can come from childhood bullying. I kind of like her now. Annoying that people are saying shes a cry baby.. some people are more sensitive and thats fine. The boys just enjoyed being mean.

Also if gemma and luca win there should be a major complaint from the public to ITV as its showing younger people his behaviour is acceptable. Gemma will think its fine shes probaly been controlled her whole life on how to act & dress. Shes probaly had a sheltered life so far of boarding school and posh holidays. Shes never had a tit job or been drunk with her mates at 14 at a gig. Need some real normal people on the show.
 
Tasha and Danica are just so young and green. They both don’t know how to react and handle these situations and then seek advice from the other girls of how to react, and they try and act on that. Danica confronting Billy was mostly because she was encouraged by Ekin and I imagine the producers were gagging for some kind of confrontation. They mostly just seem like pawns for the producers this year 🥺☹️

To be fair, I’m really sensitive myself and have a disability growing up and I agree…when you get attention it’s nice as you don’t get a lot as a disabled person. People always say love island should have plus size/disabled/different races ect and when they put a disabled person in…this is what has happened, she’s been targeted by Luca and Dami, peoples saying she’s a cry baby ect. I feel for her to be honest
 
Ok so I’m a new poster here and don’t have the time to go through all the old posts on this thread. So I’m really sorry if I repeat anything which you all have said so far!

I said to my partner on about week 1 that Luca was giving me controlling vibes. Anyway… I can’t say who for obvious reasons but I’ve got a mutual friend with someone who used to know Luca. I don’t see them much but I had a chat with them before Luca’s behaviour started to get worse (this was ages and ages ago on maybe week 2??). I said I was getting bad vibes and that he was giving off double standards, misogyny etc. anyway they said I was spot on. This person wasn’t even bitching or being overly negative, but they are or used to be friends with Sophie Floyd (who is a babe by the way loads of people like her in Brighton - lovely girl). Apparently he didn’t cheat when they were together. He ended it and then everything he did after that is where it got nasty/ disrespectful. Sounds like he was allowed to do whatever the duck he wanted after the split (including with Saffron Barker who they were friends with) and then Sophie probably only looked at another bloke post-break up and of course Luca wouldn’t like that would he 🙄🙄 So yeah this person knew him and said he wasn’t ever abusive but I dunno… those behaviours don’t come out of nowhere and i think people have different understanding and views on controlling relationships so who knows. I just hope Sophie and any other girls like Gemma who have had to deal with him are ok. the gaslighting is so depressing to watch and there is absolutely no way it’s come out of nowhere. His family say it’s a side they’ve never seen before - of course you haven’t 😂 the girls who have had to deal with it have seen it and you haven’t been able to be an observer on the outside until love island! Might be the first time you’ve seen it that doesn’t mean it’s “out of character”. If this is Dami, Luca, Billy etc. on their best behaviour in front of 24/7 cameras and the public watching can you image what they’re like with women on nights out? 😳
 
What’s really sad is that statistically the younger end of the age range that are their core viewers (late teens , early twenties) are statistically the most at risk of being in toxic and abusive relationships so completely agree with people saying they just don’t see it the way a lot of older (as in older compared to them) women do. Makes me really sad and worried for my teenage daughter and her friends. It shouldn’t have to be something a high majority of young women go through as the norm. Media has such a huge part in shaping what we see as ‘normal’ and I don’t think it’s moved on that much - clearly with this series of Love Island.
Also I love Danica and hope when she gets home all of her besties are there to build her up again with how amazing and beautiful she is inside and out ❤️

cannot agree with you more… I work with teens and teach them about healthy relationships, gaslighting, abuse, all that stuff. Having this going unaddressed on one of the most popular shows in the UK is beyond damaging and already reversing so much work that’s been done to empower women and educate these kids and young people on how to treat girls and women and have healthy relationships tbh. Already seeing real life examples of boys thinking it’s funny
