This! I have a mental health issue but I absolutely expect to be called out if my symptoms escalate to the point where I'm hurting other people. Calling me out at that point is the kindest thing to do, for me and for anyone I might be hurting.

When you're mentally unwell sometimes someone needs to say "hey, what you did there wasn't OK wtf was that about?" for you to realise that the illness is affecting you and your behaviour. To say that people with a mental illness shouldn't be critiqued is to overlook how helpful this can actually be.

Would Jacques have realised that he needed to leave if he hadn't been called out? We'll never know. But if someone is mentally unwell and you stay silent when their behaviour starts to affect others then that isn't "being kind", it's enabling. Whether Jacques' behaviour is down to his ADHD or down to him being a head is to some extent irrelevant, whatever the cause it absolutely needs to be called out when it becomes destructive.

I literally work in mental health and have seen many clients with ADHD and ASD as well as trauma. Yes, it’s true that under stressful conditions they can lash out and get angry or aggressive when they’re having trouble self regulating.

But it is NOT a characteristic of ADHD for people to be bullies, intimidating, manipulative, rude or controlling. Those traits are nothing to do with mental health and everything to do with being a misogynistic, entitled, and generally not very nice or ‘kind’ person.
 
Think we can agree there's been severe editing around the events in last night's episode.

Think most of us would agree, Jacques behaved like a dick, even from what has been shown for a long time now.

Time for him to go, I couldn't care less if he has ADHD, chickenpox or syphilis. He behaved like a nasty prick and nothing excuses his dickish attitude and behaviour, he's lucky he was well edited in last night's episode. End of.

I agree to a point- however if ITV’s love island crisis team are so specialist and expert the way they make out,they would have known he had ADHD before going in and surely would have spotted these behaviours way before we got to the point we did last night which was - even if you don’t like him - difficult to watch. They monitor social media and saw the way he was being received and the way he was being called a gaslighter and a bully, so why was he not asked to leave much sooner? This being true about ADHD symptoms then ITV have failed another islander as they’ve left in there displaying harmful behaviours and building up a very extreme public reaction against him 🤷🏻‍♀️

obviously not a question for you just a general wondering about the whole sitiuation, I find it very bizarre

Because being a gaslighting bully is nothing to do with having ADHD.

Two new girls arrived and got to split up 2 couples and send the girls to the hideaway for the night. Kady went a bit crazy and in that picture I posted she was pressing her face against the glass to see what was happening.
I watched a clip of it recently and when everyone downstairs sees her they’re like wtf are you doing. I think it just being a silhouette makes it scarier 😂😂
