Ah ok I missed this. I thought shaughna was just calling her out but didn’t know she had said something to warrant it.

I liked shaughna in her year but she kind of annoys me now too.

Has anyone listened to the podcast she was on in full? Just wondering as to if it’s as bad as the snippets people are putting on Twitter. Her publicist said the everyone has the same 24 hours quote was in reference to another quote about Beyoncé so wondering if the islanders slating her listened to it or if they’re just trying to get their own publicity by slating her.

it's in reference to the quote that we all have the same 24 hours as beyonce. now that's all fine but we don't all have the same resources as beyonce. beyonce herself did not come up from nothing, she came from a relatively wealthy texan family. that's privilege. she's a lightskinned black woman in a world where colourism is rife. that's another form of privilege. her father had connections in the music industry. that's privilege. it is a matter of fact that no matter how hard some people work, it does not matter that they have the same 24 hours as beyonce because they do not have the same privileges as beyonce. the implications of that quote are deeply problematic because no matter how hard some people work they will never have the same starting point as others. she's been dragged on twitter before for saying this on her story and chose to bring it up again and double down on her point. it's pure stupidity because she already knows the general opinion of this phrase and is choosing to say it again.

There has been loads said on the MM thread so worth catching up on a few pages for the gist of it. She was completely tone deaf and patronising in her interview with Steven and out of her depth. She probably thought she was being "inspiring" but came across as naive and clueless at best.

Interview snippet is here - notice her tone and the faces she pulls. It's written all over her face that she thinks people need to just "work harder" when it's just not that simple.

All of Shaghuna’s tweets are clout driven and what’s popular. This is why she’s always tweeting and deleting like last season of love island. She kept the same energy with Mike because she knows he’s not popular. Maura and Shaughna both need to piss off. This is about Molly and I want to see how she deals with it. The statement released today doesn’t cut it.

The statement approved by the influencer reads: “Molly did a podcast interview in December about her own rise to success. If you listen to the full conversation and interview Molly was asked about how the nature of her potential grows and how she believes in herself.

“This part of the interview was discussing time efficiency relating to success. Molly refers to a quote which says “We all have the same 24 hours in a day as Beyonce”. She was discussing her own experience and how she can resonate with this specific quote.

“Her opinion on if you want something enough you can work hard to achieve it is how she keeps determined with her own work to achieve more in her own life. Molly is not commenting on anyone else’s life or personal situation she can only speak of her own experience.”

It goes on to say how Molly is fully aware that everyone comes from “different backgrounds”, but was simply discussing her own journey.

“She acknowledges that everyone is raised in different ways and from different backgrounds but her comments here are in reference to timing, hard work and determination in her own life.

"If you listen to this interview you can see the whole conversation was about her own personal circumstances, how she has grown up and this small clip in the conversation was talking about a quote that inspires her.

“Social media users have shared a short snippet from this interview with words such as “if you are homeless buy a house” and “if you are poor be poor” these are absolutely not Molly’s words, these are not Molly’s thoughts and this isn’t at all the meaning or thought behind that conversation
