I think it was the fact they weren’t having that sort of discussion in the first place and hardly said anything to each other before she mentioned it. It’s not the subject people disagree with it’s the timing and person saying it. They didn’t really know each other and she randomly just came out with it and he looked uncomfortable to me. It’s different someone he knows really well or his own family having that conversation with both of them present but it was a very random time and situation for her to bring it up.I recall they were talking about the realities of raising mixed race kids in America and having them grounded in their self worth in a country that tells them it doesn't exist, and whether a white person (who has no exposure to that reality) is ready for the task, they were not saying anything bad about her being white. By clearly not caring enough to understand, you pretty much display the ignorance they were talking about, but go boil your piss anyway.
