Seen as he's back again tomorrow night. Which are your stand out ones?

For me it's:

Porn - Was interesting to see about the industry just before it collapsed and they all got AIDS (quite grim)

Swingers - He actually got quite into this one LOL

Off-Broadway - Not a whole lot happens in this but there's a certain charm about it

When Louis met Max Clifford - One of the only time I've seen Louis on the ropes in a documentary. Clifford came off looking even more of a twit in the end though

Louis and the brothel - Pretty crazy what went on in there. Some troubled souls

Louis and the Nazis - He didn't have to do much here, the people pretty much just hung themselves. Some terrible people

Gambling in Las Vegas - This is the one I've rewatched the most. Just find it entertaining.

The Most hated family in America - One of his best. I'll include all the other parts as well.

Extreme Love: Autism - Had no real idea what people go through with this condition. Eye opening.

Extreme Love: Dementia - Heartwarming and heartbreaking

LA Stories: City of dogs - Found this really depressing. Poor dogs.


I don't hate the other, they're good but wouldn't go out my way to rewatch them
 
I randomly watched one the other night on some random channel where he was investigating people that had catastrophic brain injuries and the aftermath in rehab etc. Some very sad stories, one lady had tried to take her own life but just survived and was living her life with 24:7 care in a rehab centre. Another had a riding injury was trying to live back with her husband and children but her whole personality had changed.

I ended up just getting annoyed with that one as he kept getting dicked around so much.

Oh yeah that husband and wife in that were just depressing. She was cold as ice.

I recently read Megan phelphs roper’s book. She has left the most hated family but was in the first 1 possibly 2 documentary’s Louie did with them. Really interesting read!

Are you talking about the my Scientology movie? It was awful wasn’t it. I was so disappointed.

There's a video on YouTube where Megan Phelps talks to little kids about her former views and her family, it's an interesting watch.

Did anyone see the documentary about Eating Disorders? I found that incredibly sad
 
Watched his new Tiger King one last night. Thought it was really quite good for showing some of the other sides to the story than what Netflix selectively showed. But essentially the entire Tiger King lot are an absolute truck load of basket cases. "Only in America" as they say. You could not make up such a screwed up tale, it would be impossible.

I agree with the Autism episode it was very enlightening I think parents almost always protect their children and wouldn’t broadcast how difficult it can be as the children grow up and get bigger and stronger. So this was excellent for raising awareness of the difficulties families face.

The brothel one was very entertaining.

I loved the ones on Scientology too, they seem a very scary group altogether.
 
I love him and enjoy his shows. I do think the follow up Savile documentary was unfortunate though and he should have left it be because it was obvious he was trying to assuage his own guilt and at points almost seemed to be blaming others for not noticing his predatory tendencies. He also kept asking people if they had enjoyed the original documentary which was a bit needy and icky. Having said all that, I would ride him like Seabiscuit.

I agree, It was interesting to see some of the other sides of the story as well. And to get a bit of balance about Carole Baskin.

I was fascinated by the Netflix series, it was the kind of show you had to watch almost through your fingers, as it was so bad and so unbelievable, and the tigers and other animals were treated so cruelly!

But there is a lot in there to tell about the effects of poverty, of drug taking, of what to do with ex offenders for minor crimes...who all seemed to end up working for Joe Exotic in his zoo, or married to him!
And also a lot about personal responsibility and libel! How was Joe Exotic allowed to get away for so long with threatening to kill people who he disliked?

After watching Louis Theroux s version, I am amazed that the Baskins especially didnt sue Netflix for libelling them!

Feel the same about the Saville follow up.

He asks the same questions to the people on his podcast about whether they like his work and he tries to pass it off as a bit of a joke but it was off putting.

I was a bit disappointed with the Tiger King followup, it felt too much of a recap of his last documentary with Joe. But I did like the more balanced view of Carole and it does seem that he didn't know he wasn't going to be allowed to talk to a lot of people until he was already filming so I guess he just had to do what he could.

Ah yes I saw in the latest doc that she'd totally flipped sides. The mother looked so broken in that one, a shadow of her former self. Will look out for Megan's book, I bet it's an interesting one.

Yeah the Scientology movie. It was like a load of cutting room floor footage just thrown together. No flow or anything.

Yeah that was a really hard watch. I just felt depressed after that, it was just uncomfortable viewing for the most part. Such a debilitating disorder that it's hard to grasp probably unless you've been through it.
