Gloria enjoys her job and didn't want to retire because she isn't doing it out of obligation, she has plenty of money. She isn't doing a really tough manual job for example where doing it two more years is a big issue. Fair play to her for working in her 80s, but she isn't reflective of most people.

No, she is in an interesting, not routine, and well paid job, one that feeds up the ego, and one that can lead to more income generation by endorsements and the like. Most people are not in that position. She is out off touch.

Kaye Adams has a podcast called how to be sixty. She still works a lot and occasionally mentions cutting back, how would she manage. She likes to give the impression she is a normal person. By that I mean not wealthy. But she is wealthy, she has earned her money, she should own it. She had Jonathan Ross on and he said how lucky he and Kaye were, no money worries if they retire and how a lot of people aren’t in that lucky position. He is arguably richer than Kaye, a very high profile broadcaster and his wife is a renowned scriptwriter for films. But how refreshing that he realises his good fortune. Kaye went quiet when he said how lucky they were.

They earn £3K an appearance. Even if you were on once a week for half the year that is still £78,000. Not bad if you can get it. Most of the presenters on LW have a lot of money. Christine Lampard, Penny Lancaster, JSP. Colleen looks like she lives on her own private estate. Sometimes she gives the impression she doesn’t like the job, but she is normally on twice a week, so a steady £6K a week isn’t too shabby. Denise is married to Lincoln whose paintings sell for thousands of pounds. Ruth and Eamon are multimillionaires.They are all out of touch now.

Wow, Gloria is so ignorant. She may enjoy work, but she is cheafur driven there and back, pampered, has assistants running around after her, is paid £3,000 per episode and requires very little preparation, mental labour or physical labour. I reckon an 82 year old who works as a factory worker would have a very different view of retirement. Gloria completely glossed over the fact that she is in a highly priveledged job (if you can call it a job).
 
Just saw that SS has revealed the sex of her soon to be born child as she’s 8 months gone already. Has there been any mention of it on LW? I don’t recall anything being said. Her last couple of pregnancies everyone made a huge deal of it, on and off the show, but I don’t see or hear anyone mentioning it at all. Seems very strange 😳

Yes, it’s odd. She isn’t missed from the show.
 
I just looked at a few articles - she keeps saying she wants sex but her and her husband don’t anymore because they are too old. He looks younger than her, not by much.

Just don’t get how she managed to get a university degree and a masters! Not sure what she got it in but it couldn’t have been anything remotely academic with how shocking her knowledge of the English language is 😳
